I can't see how this is a good move. It could be a disaster for Irish racing.
It's an absolute disaster for Irish racing and the sport. RUK will probably have to add a channel, one UK only and one for a mixture of UK,Ireland and , maybe France and charge for each channel individually with a package deal for both; otherwise it will be split screen for most races. Following hard on the heels of the GBI and international rights announcements (clearly timed to be in the same week) this has not been a good week for racing fans in the UK or internationally.
I am trying not to pre-judge (failing, obviously) but am feeling pretty despondent about this right now. We shall see.....
They do have the "interactive" feature at the moment where you can watch full coverage from one track.... maybe that is how they'll split things?
