Triumph Hurdle 2018

Mitchouka did it well there, diddnt have a great deal to beat. But he did it very professionally travelled strongly jumped very well and put distance between himself and the others.

More a Fred Winter horse than Triumph according to Elliott.... I'd go along with that.

Doesn't do any harm to Espoir D'allen's claims though!

nice form franking for Espoir Dallen. Farclas is the main worry for me. Thank god I have him covered.

It is your first line that'd worry me Beast.... jumping is so important and that wasn't good enough to win a festival race....

HOWEVER, I did not think DDS jumped very well all last season and it didn't do him any harm :highly_amused:

8/1 way too short for me though. Espoir D'allen is the same price and if I had to back one of the two, it'd certainly be the Irish runner...

It never stopped Faugheen Kev , not saying he the next anything but he does have his own way of getting from A to B.He looks top drawer to my eye and till he beaten he will do for me.

It didn't Beasty boy .... but Redicean is not as talented as Faugheen. He'll have had a brilliant career to get within 14 lbs of him...

Faugheen didn't lose momentum when he used to crash through his hurdles ... redicean was losing ground at every flight. He simply cannot afford to do that in the Triumph.

Is he due to run again?

Thought Redicean was ultra impressive bar his jumping , Alan King trained a few good juveniles and to my eyes this guy the real deal.

Another race prior to Cheltenham would help him on jumping front as you cant beat match practice.

The One To Beat IN Triumph? I think its going to take something very good to beat him , certainly shaping like a very good triumph in prospect.

TB,
Take a look at Kings record with novices at the festival. And he's had some good ones. Then ask yourself...............................

It is easy to get carried away with performances at Kempton in these 2m hurdles sometimes. Being such a speed orientated track can make some of these quality ex flat performers look visually impressive.

Irving (prior to the Supreme) and Beltor (prior to the Triumph) spring to mind.

... and Charli Parcs!

All 3 of them I'd fallen for

STORMY IRELAND
4 b f Motivator – Like A Storm
A French import, she created an excellent impression on her Irish debut, winning a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse by 58 lengths in December.
“She was very, very impressive at Fairyhouse. I don’t know what the race was like in terms of depth, but she couldn’t have done any more. She has set a fairly high bar I think. She has been very good since. She’s an incredible filly really. I tried to give her a little break after Fairyhouse, but after two or three days she bucked off her rider! She’s not the biggest filly, but she is very high energy. She looks my top juvenile at the minute and will go for the Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown along with Mr Adjudicator.”

I think Willie likes her! :highly_amused:

Yes he gave one or two horse a good word , but this was the one he got most excited by i reckon.

I was really impressed and took 16s straight after the race (was trying to get bigger but the odds changed :grumpy:) - not unhappy with 16s though, but Espoir D'allen would be fav to beat her at this stage ...

Could shorten DRAMATICALLY though from her current price?

I hope so I'm running a little low now.

Apple's shakira 33/1
Stormy ireland 40/1
Espoir dallen 33/1
Saldier 40/1 nrnb
Msassa 28.0.
Gumball 33/1 :grumpy:
Demopolis 33/1

Rest cashed out for full value.
Could do with seeing demopolis out who's obviously already lost his novice status. And saldier doing the business on Wednesday. If not I'll cash him out.

I assume you're happy enough to not have had WHAD covered until his price was too short? On the French form?

FWIW I think you've got the 1-2-3 covered anyway.

I'm not worried about WHAD at all tbh. I turned him down at 66s and 25s and He's beat little since imo, so I can't back him now. He's a solid good horse but hes not one for me.

2. Farclas (Tattersalls Ireland Spring Juvenile Hurdle)
Reversing form with Espoir D'Allen might be asking a bit too much, but there should be lots more to come from this French import. Allowed to go off at 10-1 for his Irish debut in a Grade 2 over Christmas, he shaped with significant promise and Davy Condon, Gordon Elliott's assistant, suggested there was big improvement in his locker. Watch this space.

Huge eye catcher of mine this. Reminded me an awful lot of Tiger Roll who of course was 2nd at Christmas and won the Triumph

Farclas will be 3lb worse off I believe next time? Clearly should come on for it, but I'd be surprised if he can reverse the form with the winner, especially on those terms.

Al Ferof,
I sat in a bookies watching that very race. Went in to back Guitar Pete, he won. Walked out of the bookies with 25/1 Tiger Roll for the Triumph. :triumphant:

This race is a hard one to judge, I find myself agreeing with pretty much all the comments, I actually think the ground on the day will dictate a few chances... will the ground be soft or good and how will certain horses handle that? I've already got 4 in this and i can see that increasing come the day haha

Hi all, been reading for a couple of months but first time poster.

Anyone heard any news about Demopolis as I'm starting to be concerned about his prospects of turning up here? Not a race I usually get involved in too early but had a couple of points e.w last Oct. based on the OJA write-up and Hobbs' comments in the RP. He was quoted as saying he'd be out by the end of Nov but since then I've heard nothing and, given what else J.P has for this race, am starting to think he may even be getting kept back for the Fred Winter. He has a RPR of 129 from his run in France and this I suspect would result in a official mark of about 127-133 if they were to ask for one which would get him in to the Fred Winter and put him on the same sort of mark it's been won off before so have had a further point ew at 25s on the Any Race market but may well have just thrown away another two points so any updates re his health much appreciated.
