Cross Country Chase 2018

JO beaten today by the 12 year old Mtads Supreme

Ground it would not of been best on to be beat by a nose, I expect to see a different horse if it lines up in December at Cheltenham, and certainly at the Fest, two runs now to get that fitness back after time off, I am keeping the faith

CoC at 7s with 365 is massive for me. I'm on at 12s but tempted to part with a few more points

:triumphant::highly_amused: This horse in the race is the one I keep coming back to when I think about other horses prices....

Apple's Shakira beat Gumball and is now 4/1 fav for the Triumph.

Nobody, can think that is a BETTER price than CoC.

Footpad 6/1 another example.... IMO

This one I'm in your camp Kev, how CoC can be 7/1 is a gift from the heavens.. if someone gave me 6/1 NRNB I'd be in touch with my bank manager..

Iv backed coc and auvergnat. But at The weights i like the French horse urgent de gregaine in 3rds performance, I believe he now goes straight to the festival. So will be forgot about and likely to drift nearer the time. Would be one for me ew when nrnb. 25s to 33s I'd be very happy

CoC and Josies Orders still for me in this, but like you Scooby, I would be interested in the French runner once NRNB comes out, would be a huge e/way player if 25/1 or bigger.

Does nobody think, at the weights, Cantlow came off best the other day.. he gave the winner 12lbs

I'm not a believer that the weights make anywhere near as much difference as in any other type of handicap, which is why I couldn't entertain Cantlow.

I'm going to put 4pts on CoC now I think :triumphant:

I keep backing it, 7/1 is such good value. Put it in a double with the machine at 6/1 before today's race, so happy enough with that

I hadn't got a single on, only a 2pt double with Buvuer D'air Not looking as good now

Just checked when going to add more - it's 9s I'm on at not 12s...wishful thinking !

Just seen that Urgent De Gregaine is 25/1 with Bet365 who also offer 1/4 odds for a place, as opposed to an industry worst of 12/1 with Ladbrokes/Coral who only offer 1/5 for a place. That is some discrepancy in my book!

Either Bet365 somehow 'know' he won't turn up, or are just incredibly generous, given the majority are around 16/1.

I could personally wait out longer until nearer the time. But I assume it would be all systems go straight to the race in march as the plan was before his trial.

For me I am reliant too much on CoC & Josies Orders that at 25/1 UDG is a nice price for a cover bet, I know it's not your style as you lose value but it's the way I go about things :)

Fair enough cod I wouldn't knock that bet. I believe the plan was to go straight to the festival now, so don't worry too much if he's not entered for the level weights contest that would normally seem the next logical step. That's where I'm hoping the oruce may poss increase as he's sat in his box. Might be too much to ask for above 25s though to be fair.

Any thoughts on why the large price discrepancy?

Not really but they would have a very one sided book towards COC wouldn't hurt them getting a few outsiders in there book and just a trading decision on the French horse.

I often find 365 are best price especially with the 1/4 odds ... I think they're 'big' enough to get money on the book on their own decisions ... it's not like the ante post markets for any of them are that significant in the grand scheme of things ... only us forum dwellers that think about it haha

I think you're right you back now personally
