Skybet are going 10 places......

That's incredible isn't it.

Don't need that many places when you know the winner though .....

So I need the places! :highly_amused:

I'm going to have a few darts when they are offering such good place terms. Oosthuizen is definitely going to be one of mine

10 places is a great offer, Sky really are pulling out the stops these days.
Naturally they're shorter that most others but I think they'll have to offer a little more price value to get the business by midweek so I'm holding on.
My spies tell me it's a short track by comparison so you don't need a bomber to win here, weather looks breezy without creating too many issues and showers possible throughout the comp.
Will be looking to back Koepke, Garcia and Stenson

I've gone for:

Speith 14s - SL and OC tipsters both strong cases
Matsuyama 20s - Solid and surely wins one soon
Fleetwood 22s - born in Southend, member at Birkdale, two wins this year ... He is way shorter than he should be but I can't get away from the story!
Snedeker 70s - bit under the radar and tipped up too

My squad consists of:

Rahm 20/1 win only
Garcia 20/1 ew
Oosthuizen 55/1 ew
Johnston 200/1 ew
Westwood 75/1 ew & 70/1 ew 1st round leader.
Grace 69/1 win only.

I'll add one more tonight.

Sned is a non runner.... swapped for Alex Noren 45/1 ew
Added Garcia at 16/1 10 places and thought about the 12/1 5 places without Spieth, Rahm, Fowler, McIlroy, Johnson... might get paid out twice!

Also added Noren Kev. Took 50/1ew, 8 places

I saw those Sky prices without the top 5 Kev, thought they were OK.
Betfair (exchange) have a 10 place market and surprisingly it shows the Sky prices are better value.

Friday looks to be horrific with 20-40mph winds and showers all day, in situations like that I like getting against players in match bets who shoot big in R1 and have little/no chance of making cut, got a view they are non triers down the stretch and when up against playing partners who have everything to play for they have to be opposed...

Had a decent buy of the worse round at 87.5 too, someone will fall apart in the gales and shoot 90...

Mixed bag so far for me - 10pt staked in total:
Matt Kuchar, 1.5pts EW @ 50/1
Ross Fisher, 1.5pts EW @ 80/1
Marc Leishman, 1pt EW @ 45/1
Sergio Garcia, 1pt WIN ONLY @ 16/1
Charl Schwartzel, 0.5pts EW @ 70/1

Looking forward to this tomorrow!

I bet you are. There is no way Spieth will let this slip.

Well that was intense!

Imagine if he learnt how to hit a fairway?! :highly_amused:

What a great tournament. How Spieth came away with a 5 on the 13th I'll never know.

It was absolutely gripping wasn't it. One of the most famous bogey's in history

Spieth is an incredible talent and a very modest and respectful fella too, so he;s great for the game, but in my mind there's no way a golfer should be allowed to take the ball back to what is effectively a fairway having shanked one in deep wonga at the loss of just a single penalty shot, you will never convince me the practice range is part of the golf course.
The right man won the tournament no question, but that one hole grates....

Agree with you there Ista - surely it should be a 2 shot penalty.

I keep saying that I'll go one year but still haven't been. Have any of you been, if so, would you recommend it?

I do Sandwich, love it.
Pretty much 12 hours entertainment, my advice is to go to as many different parts of the course as you can, you get a great perspective of the course that way
