2026 Novice Hurdlers

I’m glad I have him onside, but I’m a bit wary of going in again right now after another last hurdle incident.
Think he will be available at bigger odds towards March anyway.

Asking for a big one at the last after what happened last time was a brave move. Least it shows the horse has learnt, this time he stayed up

I’d be worried for El Cairos when the taps are turned coming down the hill for the second last!

He’s one I’m happy to avoid because of that. Doesn’t like jumping at speed or when asked for one?

He is rapid though.

I love how he hurdles most of them but he don't half take a chance, so quick over them and tight.
Roc Dino not done himself any favours, mark wise.
Hard to say really, but if they guess how far el cairos might have won the last day and go through Passing Wife's mark then mid to high 130's at minimum I reckon.

edit - actually forgot about the 8lb weight difference so maybe low 130's if they're being generous
If they give Roc Dino a mark in the high 130s then the rest of the field would have over inflated marks. The 3rd would have to rated on a par (or higher) with Roc Dino given that he was conceding 8lb. The 4th and 5th would have to be showing 20+lb of improvement on their previous performances. I struggle to see how they can add too many lbs on.

- just seen your edit, low 130s would be absolutely tops for me, reckon it will be a few lbs less than that.

Perfect that from Paul id say

Look asif your trying to be as close as you can

El cairos could have been 10 clear so cant rate him too high

Think irish mark may be 128 ish, UK around 132 if i was to guess

I tell you what though, if he can hang on to Old Park Star and get over that final hurdle it should make for a spectacular run in up the hill!

I have him nicely on side but he looks like he may be a bit of a short runner to me. I wouldn't be counting my money till he's past the line even if he is on the bridle at the last. Should be a great watch though!

Supreme is almost carbon copy of shishkin vs Aba.

WPM not much of note, Aba speed horse like el c and shishkin high crushing speed with stamina like ops.

You wouldn't want to be coming down to the last upsides El Cairos and Talk the Talk...

Kennedy said on Racing TV: "It was completely my fault, I needed to commit to one or the other and I committed to neither. Disappointed in myself for that but thankfully he found a leg today anyway.

"He jumped brilliant the whole way throughout, he picked up well down the straight. We didn't go quick there today and sprinted off the bend, but just the gears he showed was impressive.

"He has enough gears to hold onto him for a bit longer, his best jumping is in behind horses so I don't think experience will be a big issue (if lining up next at Cheltenham in March)."

There must be something wrong with that speed gun though. The ground was described as Heavy (Soft in places), but El Cairos clocked 37mph carrying 11-12.

You're talking Constitution Hill speed levels. He clocked 35mph in the Tolworth in Heavy.

The two big differences for me, firstly Constitution Hill, at the time, was hurdling impeccably, El Cairos does not. Secondly, today at Thurles, it was definitely a case of a crawl for the first part of the race, and a sprint at the end. Will El Cairos be able to go the end to end gallop of a Supreme and get up that hill? Personally I don't see it being a problem, but only time will tell with that question.

El cairos is an absolute certainty in the supreme , it’s as quick as I’ve seen over hurdles and my double at 25s with constitution hill at 16’s should be a dawdle of a watch on the Tuesday 🤦🏻‍♂️😳

Just need a bit of low sun to omit the last half dozen or so hurdles, and maybe the first 2 or 3 and you'll be in clover, with your underware in zero danger of going soft, soft to heavy in places during the races.

Nothing has really changed for me regarding El Cairos.

Still looks bloody fast
Still looks vulnerable jumping at speed

OPS v El C
Flair v reliability

Seve v Faldo, Brazil v Germany, Jimmy White v Steve Davis.

Could be some Supreme..
