2017 Champion Hurdle

I wouldn't necessary have a problem with any of the top 40 jockeys but there are just some I prefer more than others.

No mention of Defi du Seuil and Charlie Parcs though, which suggests their targets aren't 100% confirmed still?

The jockey only makes a difference on a few horses in a few races. The pros can nearly all do a job. Different with amateurs, of course.

I think day to day that is probably true but not at Cheltenham an particularly at the Festival.

Walsh and Geraghty are the top two for a reason. Ruby gets plenty of good ones to pick from but his record in the Supreme includes horses who werent the best in the race - Al Ferof & Champgane Fever. Geraghty won Champion Hurdles on Punjabi and Jezki which I dont think any other jock would have won.

Russell has figured out how to ride there too.

It never really was McCoys track. He was far better round Newbury and Aintree.

Just my opinion.

OV posted this on wrong thread.

DAVID CASEY ( has the name of being best judge in Willie Mullins)

PETIT WON'T GET UP THE HILL. FOOTPAD IS A 2M4F HORSE. NOT SURE IF LIMINI IS SUPPLEMENTED. I WOULDN'T. VVM IS A BETTER MARE.

Buveur D'air seems to have been taking a little walk in the market over the past week or so, still drifting (slightly) too.

11/2 on the exchanges, 4/1 best price with the bookmakers, may be nothing of course.

And as the Coral Cup betting had suggested, Tombstone will not go for this race but the former instead.

And VVM left in, as is Moon Racer

Stan James Champion Hurdle field

Brain Power

Makes sense from a RR perspective I suppose. David Casey said a preview he felt that VVM was better than Limini and I think I would agree. Saves any supplementary fees as well.

Well that just sums it all up:grumpy: everything I have gone near ante post has been one long tail of woe. Finally thought things were changing luck wise but no, it wasn't to be!

Could Ruby ride Wicklow Brave? Just backed him at 40/1 NRNB. In an open year, you'd have to give him some kind of ew chance, and seen plenty of worse 40/1 pokes than him...

The way he won the County lives long in the memory. And didn't someone post Wicklow Bloodstocks very impressive record with runners at the Festival?

I think Ruby will be on Footpad lads unless Wicklow is working well

That was me CCM, but more referring to handicaps, the WB owe me nothing.

He has been trained for the Melbourne cup all season so surely must have some staying pace behind him.

I just topped up on the 40/1 with Lads (just incase).

This would be some prep for a CH winner loveracing :highly_amused:

I thought I was so smart nicking £15 at 48 Limini for the CH, forgot to trade out at 9 yesterday lol
