Betway Lincoln handicap

Thanks for the info MMG.

Re your previous post about being off the pace - I thought the slower ground tomorrow would help the ones coming from the back, last years winner Gabrial was also held up. I guess you need a bit of luck.

Hi LR, what I was trying to say about the pace is that hold up horses tend to benefit more by being in the part of the draw where the faster early race horses are,
they are then further forward when they make a move than if they find themselves in the part of the draw where the front runners are less inclined to blaze ahead, hope that makes sense

Might just watch the Lincoln and stick me dosh on Redstart in the 4.10 at Kempton, Fran Berry ain't going there for the nightlife
Just a note on the Lincoln though, I think there's more significance to being in the section where the early pace is, the finishers need to be carried into the race so if they are off the pace they usually have too much to do

Fran Berry is stable jockey for Beckett so not sure we can read too much into him going to Kempton for one ride.

I've just had some stats through for Richard Fahey at the Lincoln meeting if anyone's interested, this is since 2010
88 runners, 17 winners, 34 placed, 19% win strike rate, and a !level stakes profit, if backing all of his runners blind, of £62.00,
not bad eh, the only losing year would have been 2013 but that would have been a winner too if you use early prices rather than
SP, then the overall profit is higher too

he's 4/1 at 365 at the moment, 1/4 odds ew, so no brainier for me, Fran has another ride but it's a 33/1 outsider, I think the stable jockey thing counts more for the big races when it's one major ride, unless he's moved to England, Baz stays in Ireland if there's only one selling hurdle ride at Market Rasen, so I suppose value must come into it

it is a £20 k race so not chicken feed, the Botti horse is being backed though and Redstart has been off the track 11 months, I've had a decent bet anyway, more chance of picking the winner of this than the Lincoln, better prices in that but not a betting proposition for me, been off my game since Chelters though so hoping to get back on track

I have followed you on RS MMG. :encouragement:

I cracked and had a bit ew on Storm Rock, think he might like the ground more than a lot of the others, looks heavy to me

Great call LR:encouragement:

Thanks MMG, the ground did suit at the end.

All the hype for the fav anti-post and then the major drift on track makes you wonder how his other horse ran a blinder and not him. Nice try bookies but I don't think many punters followed the hype.

Nice when they come off, the only other one I considered was the Ryan Moore mount, for that reason, of course I went the wrong way,, but I had a tiny ew purely for interest, can't say I like these huge field flat handicaps, but, as I said, it's nice when they come in for you

Well, that was atrocious from Redstart, horse not good enough plus jockey stopped riding, sorry LR
