2016 Cheltenham Festival Day 1 Yankee (by Faugheen_Machine)

F_M, just for you I will paint a white face on him and imagine he was your favourite horse thats been on a diet for 8 months.

Hang on, he already has a white face, so I will just imagine the weight loss. haha

He's going to be right in the mix. A patient ride is what's required, similar to Arctic Fire last year.

With the stated intention that Nichols Canyon will blaze a trail I think that could bring P & C into the mix, all to prove now though, good ground will also make it easier for them to go fast enough for Nico to settle him, his finishing speed could be telling from the second last

I can't find anything on his target LR. I'd be surprised if it wasn't the Gold Cup but I think he'll go off fav if it's the Ultima.....

The other one I like is Pipe's UnTemps Pour Tout. He's grade 1 winning hurdler and is rated a good few lbs lower over fences. His jumping isn't brilliant but I remember An Accordion winning this a few years back and he was another who's jumping wasn't his strong point.

Just reading jonthehammer's preview thread, I'd forgotten about Roi De Franc in the 4 mi!er, massive chance, connections very bullish, not a great price but if the Yankee is still alive by then a 4/1 winner will look a lot sweeter than something running a good race to fill a place, would probably be my nap of the day

I think there are mixed signals abour RDF target...Oleary suggested RSA the other day.

That's what I thought OV. O'Leary has always said he targets the grade 1's so I expect RDF to turn up in the RSA

Polly Peachum must be great value for Mares Hurdle at 7/1 each way nrnb. She has had a much better prep this year and she was nearly won it last year. VVM isn't Annie Power.

For a value yankee on the first day at present mine would be something like this.

Supasundae
Sizing John
Identity Thief
Minella Rocco

(Would have Dr Harper in if I was sure he was going in the USB).

the arkle without market is worth a look for a bet

This is the forecast.

Arkle tricast is Douvan, SJ and Vaniteux.

Champion Hurdle worth pairing Camping Ground and SM with a few of the others for a big divi.

All of above not much use for a Yankee though.;)
