Just finished watching this - Superb effort gents! I’ve got zero bets on Ferny & found myself agreeing with a lot of what was said as to why I haven’t warmed to putting any on. Great to put faces to a few names on here, agree with what Eggs said too, Festival Preview of all the races in build up to the Festival would be brilliant. Top job.

Doesn't actually need it, but how about dragging in a few 'mystery guests' and have the FJ crowd guess their identity based upon their content. Lobos and his love of the fillies would be an easy spot...
 
Very enjoyable watch. Looking forward to the next one and would definitely subscribe.

I think the point made about FH learning how to race and settle is very important. First bumper pulled like mad, second bumper was better but still keen. Third bumper when he was dropped out the back he won on the bridle at Fairyhouse on heavy which takes some doing.

Also, agree that he beat Bob cosy enough in the end. Obviously Bob has probably improved since then but Henry has said he went there expecting to beat FH.

Might be worth seeing how Echoes in rain gets on in open company. If she doesn't look up to it it probably increases FH chances of staying over hurdles.

Great effort gents. 10/1 this far out, isn’t for me personally but I can see why people would be having a bet.

I've only backed ferny hollow for champion hurdle, free bets, not real money though so obviously hoping for a change of destination ! Enjoyed the podcast, by the way, you guys did a great job, any chance of autographs ! :welcoming:

Well, well, well really enjoyed that, well done guys

I found myself agreeing with different sides of the debate at different times. I think where i am is that 10-1 is not value at all for a horse that hasn't jumped a fence in public, however on potential i could see why people may take the price
I will wait for an entry, at which time the price may well have tumbled, or NRNB where the price will definitely tumble

One thing i would like is one of those endless cans of beer that Kevloaf seemed to be drinking !!

Very good lads! I found myself agreeing with both sides of the argument at different points.

It’s really refreshing to listen to a discussion where all parties involved are clued up on their racing. Lots of the podcasts/YouTube videos out there are presented by people who maybe don’t have a real gauge on current markets etc.

Thoroughly enjoyable! :emmersed:

Enjoyable. As it stands, and without all the conditions attached during the podcast, 10/1 is in no way attractive as a single standalone bet with real money.

A couple of bits of information/opinion that I'll offer:
- a few of Willie's are running poorly at the moment and he's withdrawn a few and reduced entries. A delay in debut is probably nothing to worry about.
- Willie would have no problem with a horse making its debut end December/early January and then having a second run end January/early February as a route to Cheltenham. Again, a delay in debut is probably nothing to worry about.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It was the first one, and hopefully we can improve on what was essentially pretty raw, unedited, and a 'let's see what happens approach'.

It was good fun doing it, and I'd encourage as many of you who are up for it to put up something you'd like to debate and to possibly join us if you want to. But if that's not your thing, still tell us what you think we should be debating. We're also open to all feedback, with regards content, length, style, etc. Basically anything really. We're complete novices at this kind of thing.

We intend to record another 2 or 3 next week, and aim to have them out most likely on Thursday. Again we'll put a poll up for each one (mostly for Quevega because we know how much he likes them :highly_amused:), and please also give your opinion on what we've debated. Hopefully we can add a fresh perspective to what we debate, but even if we don't hopefully the debate is interesting enough to get you guys to want to give your opinions on here.

Oh, and for you guys heading to Cheltenham next week, if we arrange a meet up I won't be so hard to find now. Although now you know I've got a face for radio, you might not want to! :frog:

Which reminds me, we need to start a thread for that.

Good effort chaps and didn’t disagree with much that was said… but have I backed him for a novice chase, most definitely yes. Whilst I have covered him for both, I feel the Marsh is most likely at this point in time, that said I also see him as the second most likely winner of the Arkle… and I also agree with Q, your voices do sound weird :fat:

Great concept guys and the time and effort you've all put in is very much appreciated, not just on this podcast but in general throughout the forum with the knowledge and respected opinions you bring. Will this always be done through teams? Some sort of text box for listeners to drop a live comment or topic for discussion could be an idea in the future if there's a format for that.

Can't wait to see how many complaints Ofcom get when the Quevega jelly tots episode airs.
