Automatic rule amendment back to a 140-max rating in 2022, just for trying this on, whether the horse wins or not.

It’s just taking the piss completely imo, although I’m sure 99% of people on here would agree.

Even something like any grade 1 or 2 winners exempt? As if winning a grade 2 that’s the ‘stepping stone’ to a grade 1 not a bloody handicap :rolleyes:

I mean it doesn’t affect me much betting wise, just really annoyed me as you can see :watermelon:

Yep, something needs to change. I can't imagine why any owner would want to target a handicap when you have one of the top 3 or 4 juveniles on your hands. People will say 'it's still a Cheltenham festival winner!' but that's short-sighted imo.

For me it sums up how the Cheltenham festival has changed and gives the 'super stables' too many opportunities to split their runners. At the end of the day, it's to the detriment of NH racing.

Craigy14 I think your idea of Grade 1 or 2 winners are not permitted to run and/or 140 max weight should sort out the top stables taking the piss, and hoovering up all of the races.

Zoffanien was beat by crassus a couple of races back, crassus was walloped by glorious zoff early this season, as a glorious zoff backer thats how i view it! :peaceful:

The stepping stones are there for a purpose, not to be exploited.

Anyway we’ll soon find out :watermelon:
 
What if Zanahiyr gets rated 145 and Quilixios gets rated 147, so Zanahiyr comes here and Quilixios goes to the Triumph, that's another NRNB double.
 
Irish Handicapper has put up DRUIDS ALTAR by 3lb, 130 to 133 today.

Joseph seemed to have had the race as a plan for sometime.

Could he put up a claimer, Hugh Morgan or Simon Torrens (both claim 5lb) who have both ridden a winner for him this season. Simon Torrens 1 out of 1.

Running off a 128 mark would be wonderful.

bump. Balko Saint is declared for Wincanton on Wednesday. Having looked in great detail in the meantime I am convinced he will get into the Boodles of 129. There are only 5 British horses rated above him in the race, and unless Irish declare 17 higher rated he gets in. Concerns - that he might attract collateral when Cabot Cliffs gets his rating tomorrow - or that he wins on Wednesday and gets a 5lb penalty. He is 25/1 now with B365 NRNB and I have taken that as well
 
I wouldn’t get too carried away with this different trainer business. Some might go, cheveley park Id make odds on to go for real, either sooner or later, but most of them are likely to be trained by Elliott in all but name still.

If it’s Henry dB then he doesn’t have a horse that’s at the top of the market in the Triumph, so the Grade 1 ought to be Plan A.

Yep, but that's my point re: Qulixios he'd be off at Henry's who would probably move him back to the Triumph....if he ever was Boodles bound at all.

Is it fair to think that if CPS have moved Quilixios to HDB then with it only being 2 weeks to the Festival, that a conversation about the target race has already happened? Don't think HDB will just have been left to do whatever he thinks.
