This years Gold Cup Day Yankee selections will be selected by MMG.

Let us hear your suggestions and will MMG have the same thoughts?

Two for consideration

Triumph - Lets Dance ( before she runs tomorrow)

started a short price to beat IG at Christmas. Both pulled clear of a field that has produced future winners.

Albert Bartlett - Fagan ( Before he runs Sunday)

Owned by the sponsor. A three time P2P winner and two time bumper winner. Also won on his only start over hurdles in December at Musselburgh and returns to that venue to contest The Albert Bartlett trial on Sunday http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/cards/card.sd?race_id=642539&r_date=2016-02-07#raceTabs=sc_

From memory I think the final decisions were made for these the week before the fez, at least some decisions will have been made regarding targets by then.
Early doors I like the profile of Next Sensation and the trainer is very bullish about his chances of a repeat win in the Grand Annual, I know a couple of folk are already on but too early to be finalising selections for the fj Yankees, worth looking at for ap bets though.

Just for info LR, I will be away for a couple of weeks from 10th Feb, may be able to check in but not sure, would you be able to cover the thread for a while, I wouldn't want people to think I'm ignoring them.

Sure np MMG.

And yes to your earlier post re the final selections to be posted around 1 week before the Fest. We may loose some prices but lets not get too greedy.

As it stands, my bet of Friday is Blue Hell. I think he could be a graded horse next year.

Day 4 could provide some excellent value and i'm going to stick by my original selections for this day even though some have drifted in prices, so here we go;

Triumph hurdle - Sceau Royal 12/1
Albert Bartlett - Up for review 12/1
Gold cup - Djakadam 5/1
Grand Anual - Next sensation 14/1

Solid selection. :encouragement:

Just my view but I wouldnt be forgiving the Up for Review Donny run easily.

He is probably the weakest link to be out of the places. I would be switching that selection for Shantou Village.

Reckon Ballydine isn't a bad shout for an e/w selection in the AB. Ran Barters Hill pretty close at the same time as beating Up For Review by a good distance... Looked pretty promising to me.

I'm easily forgiving the run from up for review at doncaster, it was too bad to be true and was miles below his previous run, it's interesting that the run did come on slightly better ground and the only other time he has run bad was on slightly better ground than soft but willie sent him there in search of the better ground, he was vying for favouriteism at Cheltenham with barters hill before the race and i think it is way to drastic to push him out to 12/1, i'm more than happy he'll place in the race with the chance of even coming 1st as well, I'm doubting shantou village at the distance, up for review has already proved the stamina

Not convinced by him at all. One winner has come out of his two hurdle wins. tailed off in the cheltenham bumper and only bit of solid form is that 3rd at punchy. But as ygritte has said in game of thrones ...you know nothing mayo.

For me it was the manner of his penultimate run at punchestown when he won over 3 miles in heavy ground, he just kept on going beating jetstream jack by 13 lengths and Nambour a further 13 lengths back in 3rd which I thought was decent enough form

it would be Mullins form in the race that puts me off

15 Black Hercules 5/2F 7th
14 Briar Hill 2/1F Fell
13 Inish Island 3rd but Ballycasey was a NR and antepost favourite
12 Boston Bob 2/1 F 2nd

MMG - I quite like the look of Clondaw Warrior 16/1 in the County, he looks well treated. Whats your views on him?

I am trying to work out which is WM's plot horse for this race.

Townshend could be one for Mullins as could Nambour in the handicap hurdles

Townshend is interesting Paz.

Does anyone see any other Mullins handicap hurdlers with previous course form? Doesn't have to be a win, just decent course experience I am looking for.

Where is Arbre De Vie going?

I've been looking for plot horses too LR, one or two that have been given a fairly easy time, avoiding the really heavy going, and kept fresh with a mind to being spot on at the fez, I can't help but think some of those campaigned over the last 10 weeks or so will have left their chances in the mud
