Barry Geraghty to replace The Champ

AP had the one win this year on Uxizandre but had none for JP in 2008 2011 or 2014. 11/4 looks about the right price not to ride a winner.

I don't blame Geraghty for taking the role and it's clearly a great opportunity but I'm a little surprised he was chosen given that by the time the season gets in full swing he'll be 36.
Few top NH pilots go much beyond 40, I doubt he has any financial concerns and doesn't strike me as having the same levels of obsession as AP, this could be a 2-3 year appointment.
JP's committment to NH racing is unquestioned and I'm a little surprised he didn't look to a younger pilot like Bowen, STD or a few others....

I think Baz would be hoping for 5+ years but who knows with the jumps game.

My own view is that the senior guys (Ruby, Geraghty, Fehily) are a good bit ahead of the younger lads with the exception of Townend. Mark Walsh has improved but just doesnt have Geraghtys big race record.

It will be interesting to see how they him to mix Ireland, Nicky and maybe Jonjo.
