Royal Ascot 2019

Managed to finish ahead from Day 1 with Grand Visir grinding out a win as the ground softened. With the rain and then drying weather on opened up ground as the week continues the ante-post bets I have had through the rest of the week may need some help with reinforcements.

I have researched videos and form for soft ground horses for Wednesdays card and have settled on a Yankee bet on the following, who have all shown form on soft.

Yankee
First Song (Queen Mary) 5/1
Zabeel Prince (Prince of Wales) 11/1
Mordin (Royal Hunt Cup) 25/1
Southern Hills (Windsor Castle) 17/2

My Day 2 pre-soft ground single bets are

Dashing Willoughby (Queens Vase) 1point Win 14/1
Agrotera (Duke Of Cambridge) 1point Win 8/1
Settle For Bay (Royal Hunt Cup) 1point Win 12/1
Southern Hills (Windsor Castle) 1point Win 10/1

Good luck tomorrow everyone.

Tomorrow for me:

365 Free bet on QM goes on Final Song. Plenty are talking about Kimari as being a rocket. Could well be, but Wesley's rockets don't tend to do much of their "sensational" work on softer ground, so i'll take her on. Final Song really caught my eye on debut, i thought she looked the rocket! Trainer a negative, i'd also say Soumillon is a negative tbh. Not a great record in GB. Free bet after the last yesterday, as with the softened ground i had a few tokens on Addeyb + Riven Light.

Queen's Vase is an awful renewal and i'll let that race run with no bet.

Magical, on at 7/2. I really like SOC, i had fancy prices on her in the Arc, but plenty is against her tomorrow. Magical really isn't miles off her level from last year and she's proven shes fine and well this year, SOC, hasn't. Obviously, Crystal Ocean and Waldgeist are no mugs either, but i'm happy enough with my bet + i'll let it run.

Have taken 5-1 on Rawdaa, handles softer ground, stays further and Sun Maiden boosted the form (while LTD didn't!). She was very eye-catching at Kempton on debut this year. I've had a saver on Move Swiftly, by Faarh she'll probably enjoy some give in the ground and she should've won at Lingfield. She was too far back + too wide. Depending on if it drys out tomorrow or stays pretty soft, Hand on Heart wouldn't be ruled out at 50s in this for me. She likes it proper soft. Has plenty to find, but she'd big a small exchange win bet as well.
AOB lost the this with Hydrangea last year when looking banker material. I Can Fly's close 2nd to Roaring lion in theory reads well, but i think One Master today shows the mile division is so inconsistent + RL was below par. The 3pds is enough for me to ignore her (probably foolishly :) )
Hunt Cup- King's Field. Follows the Settle For Bay route to a degree, has run a lot at Dundalk + won over a mile there which has been his best performance to date. His 6th to Smash Williams reads well, and considering he had a horrific passage, he'd have finished closer than his 3.5Ls he was beat. Imaging was in front that day as well. More recently he ran a nice prep at Naas, on the rail at the back and running on for pressure to finish 3rd with little use ofthe whip when it mattered. He'll improve back up to a mile. Hopefullly he won't race too lazily and won't leave himself too much to do. Weirdly feel confident about this one, even with like 30 runners lol.

No bet in Windsor Castle, can see why Hannons is fav with the two in the Coventry today. Just get a feeling something will beat beat him.

I do struggle at Royal Ascot, it’s the massive number of runners and limited places available. Adeybb bailed me out to give me a chance today but the 1st race stuck me on my arse yesterday!!

Today looks a mine field, again massive fields and conditions have changed a lot of my pre planning but going for the following:2
2.30 - Divine Spirit & Daughter in Law
3.05 - Western Australia & Jalmound
3.40 - Sea of Class & Crystal Ocean
4.20 - Pretty Baby & I Can Fly
5.00 - Raising Sand & What’s The Story
5.30 - Rayong & Southern Hills

Not the most original but got them in multiples, hoping to win half a million!!

Michael Swagger must be a cert place at minimum going on his Lincoln form when he was 3rd giving 6lbs to winner Addeybb and behind 2nd placed Lord Glitters. Both good winners at RA yesterday. MS was a previous 3rd in this race, loves give in ground, ran an eye-catching race last time and his good young jockey claims 5. What not to like ?? Also think No Nay Never Prodigy Tango will go very close for AOB/Ryan Moore. Won over 6 so will appreciate stiff 5 on easy ground and looks to be well drawn. Zabeel Prince to cause a shock in POW.

Topped up my original bet with another wager on Norway for the Leger at 25/1 with b365.

Should be able to cash out for a minimal loss if he bombs out today

2.30 - Kimari 7/1 win
Theory of Time 12/1 e/w (1st 4)
Multiply By Eight 40/1 (E/W Extra 1st 8 B365)

3.05 - Nate The Great 12/1 e/w (1st 4)

3.40 - Crystal Ocean 4/1

4.20 - Move Swiftly 11/1 e/w (1st 4)

5.00 - Settle For Bay 20/1 e/w (1st 7)
Afaak - 28/1 e/w (1st 5)
Glendevon 66/1 (E/W Extra 1st 8 B365)

5.35 - Summer Sands 11/1 e/w (1st 4)
Rayong 18/1 e/w (1st 4)

I do tire of all the wanky sycophantic Royal guff at the Royal Ascot meeting, listening to Ed Chamberlain waffle on about the Queens outfit and a load of all plump work shy toff’s made me feel quite queasy!!
O

Settle for bay touching 40.0 on the machine :(

Cashed out for a loss of 5%

That’s a result Faugheen. The best antepost plan executed. Backing Bet365 antepost when it’s a standout best price, and if it loses a race en-route to your race you can still get some and sometimes all of your money back. If it wins you have your standout price, and the odds for the St Leger would have tumbled. Well done.

Happy with Move Swiftly there! good winner, even with Rawdaa in second! Obviously the 16/1 trumps 5/1!

King's Field was pretty poor after travelling well maybe the ground!

Magical probably lost the race when Moore had to get movign on her to close on CO at the bend. Hard to close there, and then be expected to finish stronger again against a stout stayer. Ah well!

yes mate, good nod towards afaak from you i reckon.
what's the story, aside from the obvious that he wasn't good enough, just seemed to start too well and found himself up with the pace and although the jockey tried to look for cover, he had no joy.
Afaak deserved a good result like this and ran a similar race to last year, did really well considering he had no cover and was also out quick and on the pace early himself.

...good day for Sporting Life tipster, Ben Linfoot. Last night he posted Dashing Willoughby @ 14-1 (won), Move Swiftly @ 18-1 (won) and Glasvegas 50-1 (3rd).
