Cheltenham Bumper 2019

Get in the queue given a nice compliment by tipster of the week Andy Holding...finished much faster than the speedy looking Epatante.

Not missed in the market :grumpy:

Dangerous comparing times of horses jumping hurdles against not, but AH doesn't do bad with his method so I'll leave him to it :p

Blue Sari
Won a slowly run race with a sprint finish, and the form is as bad as it could get.
Reckon he's not even in the top 20 bumper horses mullins has, and he's got 21 in training.:devilish:

That turn of foot in that ground was impressive though wasn't it?

I think Envoi Allen is going to be a 3 mile horse so think he'll get beaten over 2 miles in this, albeit he looks to have the ability to be going close on talent alone.

aaaand Master Debonair beats them both anyway.

NB All Kevloaf tips should be ignored in the bumper

Would have been against better horses, off a stronger pace.
And also if 'a turn of foot' is ordinarily useful in the cheltenham bumper.

It's a poor enough race so I'll not go as far as saying it has no chance.

I'd expect of the Irish horses that Meticulous and Envoi Allen will be the ones.
Don't honestly know about the british horses too much.

But if anyone has backed or is considering backing this mullins (without properly looking at the form) horse then they need to take a long hard look at themselves.
Then shake their head and sigh.

I disagree with the last bit...

Backing all the Mullins horses regardless of the form they've shown, if they won last time out... would see you in profit as a blind system in the bumper?

"Form" for bumper horses is tooooo small a sample to get fully caught up in, as the level of improvement run to run is accelerated due to the general ages of the horses?

His only bumper winner this year,as in from 1st January
Some of Wp Mullins stats are hard to believe
Never won a champion chase or a gold cup
Never won a handicap chase at Cheltenham
Never won an Irish grand national
Unlucky as he has been in all

seems to be a lot of people saying Envoi Allen lacks pace for this but last years 1-2 Relegate and Carefully Selected are 3m plodders.

I was really impressed with Back of the Queue (having been on the Nicholls horse) at Exeter lto. Won't back anything until the day however.

No-one else picked up on Gordon saying that David Pipe liked his?

What price was Moon Racer 10 days before his win?

Think a few have said Pipe is keen on his, and for this to be raised at Irish preview evenings they must respect Pipes horse/Pipes view...

82 pages on the bumper and I still haven’t a firm fancy. Have backed the a Pipe horse just to have an interest.

ask for glory with course form on soft and improvement to come only his second run. price seems too big, is he an intended runner ?

Haha good stuff. This is a proper u turn horse this. Was never going to go here, tore up 33/1 after Gordon said no bumper but that's what CPS want so happy days

Benruben that was 2nd to Jetz in the chase yesterday (and ahead of Duca De Thaix), was the horse than beat Mount Leinster and Meticulous on their first bumper start this season.

Can anyone work out if that's useful form or not :highly_amused:

Benruben was unlucky not to win the time before, was on at 33's.
It's tenuous int it.

Can’t believe the mess I’ve made of this race, especially considering the way I started.
After reading OJA, I punted on Malone Road and Envoi Allen, and after their first couple of runs I was sitting pretty. Then Malone Road is ruled out – blow no.1.
Then it’s mooted that Envoi Allen probably won’t go to the festival. As I’m on at big prices I decide to lay it on the exchange and am happy with a guaranteed profit.
Fast forward a few more weeks and I’m reading on here that Gordon Elliott has confirm EA will not be going to the festival (it was around the time everyone was rushing to B365 to cash out bets when those announcements are made). Forgetting I’ve already laid it off, I rush over to B365 and cash out – doh!
Then following last weeks decs all my other bets are non runners – El Barra, Energumene, Larquebuse, Fury Road.
So after throwing 6 darts at the race, I find myself without a runner and the only possible outcome is Envoi Allen wins and I lose money. Lump on him gang, cos he must now be the biggest certainty of the festival! :heart-borken:

I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.

If you're told a horse won't run you should cash out if you can.

He didn't say he might not run, he said he won't.

The majority of the time you'd now be sat on a non runner and have lost your stake.

I don't want Envoi Allen to win because if it, but the decision making was right in my opinion ...

I have the option to back him now, I don't think I will .... that may be the first mistake I've made with him.
