Triumph Hurdle 2019

ratings and allowances would say different, and by some way.
Fakir's Irish rating is 146.
British Handicapper would add a few
then there's the 8lb allowance.

So to say no chance is bold.
And you can't see any way they send him, don't make sense does it ?

They can send him. But would be stupidity. When hes scrubbed along to beat fast buck and won a triumph trial. I couldn't care less what rating he's got. How on earth could he won a supreme ?

by running faster than the others.:devilish:
To be fair I wouldn't fancy it either, but i wouldn't dismiss it, as the supreme looks open.
And juveniles ratings are all fucked up anyway.

The only thing I can think of is sir erec is an entire colt, possibly try and pave the way for him and risk it, then stand him as a NH sire like beaumec de houlle who's worth a fortune.

I wouldn't be surprised if this move is all rubbish anyway, we have the same thing every year. Apple's shakira mares nov. Charli Parcs, defi de seuil supreme.

For my own bets and selfishly, id be delighted if it's true.

Just passing in on from a reliable source hes been bought. Pure speculation that he might be switched to Supreme, if anyone wants to cash out then on there heads be it, I have heard nothing about him running in the Supreme only that JP has purchased. Good luck everyone.

Thanks BM
I’ve grown to love this race , that’s all down to one person
Haven’t got a Scooby who that is
Thanks

deffinately imo. What's that form worth yesterday. A slow run race and allowed to dictate. Who was the highest rated horse in that field?

There's nothing whats so ever to say that what was behind him is as good as adjali let alone fakir

For me, i doubt Adjali ran to form vs Fakir. So i wouldn't be wanting to use him as a comparison to the field. Fine Brunello wouldn't exactly scream great form either. Being behind BOL who was 20/1 or so for the race on Sunday.

Agree Eric got the run of the race, but he looks very good. I doubt he's far more beatable than Fakir, but then, we haven't seen much of either to be making such judgements IMO.

Fakir was entitled to beat adjali giving him 5 pounds. But not in that manner. Adjali genuinely reached at one and maybe it frightened him, I don't know. Or maybe fakir is just that much better.
But despite all the criticism, I maintain that adjali is a good horse, hes no back number and at the 33s ew which i have kept. I believe its a good bet imo. If fakir dosent run (cant see it) and pic dosent make it , i genuinely think adjali with his 5 pounds back and a clear round, won't be far off at all. And has very valid ew claims.

Jacobs pointed out that he didnt run his race last time, so fingers crossed on the big day he does.

I know one or two on here, like Couer sublime for this race.
But I've got him more of a fred winter type.
The Irish Handicapper has now given him a rating of 132, chief justice 133. (Sir Erec 148) (gardens of babylon 139) (Surin 130)
And he's (sublime) entered in a novice hurdle on saturday, same race as angels breath, which is interesting.
Gives the British a look at him but against novices not juveniles (who tend to get too high a rating)
Probably won't turn up but still.

I agree with Scooby re Fakir v Sir Eric.
The best performance so far this season is Fakirs trial by a mile. I would expect SE to improve, and he'll need too. The English opposition looks quite ordinary Imo.
As for Coeur Sublime, he will defo go Triumph, what else does Elliott have??, and improve for a trip around Cheltenham. He'll be finishing best of all up that hill.
All imho

He has that maiden hurdle winner authorizo (gigginstown) not a clue how good he is but must be a fair horse to win an open maiden hurdle.

That fella Gavin on the antepost thing = has tipped up Sir erec at 9/4 and also Fakir for the supreme.
Think the whole of Ireland are convinced Sir Erec is seriously good.

Is that the upping the ante thing? Think that lad tipped Ok Corral @ 3/1. Now this at 9/4. Great value there lads

yep- not great,
but a few think Sir erec will go off odds on or nearer evens.

Who else feels dizzy with the Triumph ante post market this year. I have already thrown a few darts at this and still don't feel remotely confident that I will get a run for my money, let alone find the winner. I was looking through the entries again today and it struck me just how ironic some of them are. 'Needs to be seen' for example applies to some high profile contenders such as Lamarckise, Fusil Raffles and of course Pic Dorhy. Then there is 'Neverbeen to Paris' whereas most of the leading fancies probably know it well. Like many on this forum I missed the fancy prices on F***ity Doodah as I now call him but at least the commentary will be entertaining if he's prominent on the day (or possibly in the Supreme).

The race might be a good one but as for picking the winner I currently don't have a Scooby!

Will be interesting to see how Bachelor runs tomorrow at Rasen as was running well in the first race Erec and TTT ran in before falling at the last , to try and gauge another angle on the form.

:highly_amused: Good line.

I personally take a scatter gun approach.

Pretty much every horse is 20/1 or bigger at some point which makes it easier but it does take plenty of darts...

Still, I feel like I'm in a really good spot, so I won't be mixing things up going forward.

I take an opposite view in the bumper, which is arguably pretty similar (leave it as long as possible...) .... but I like to have enough darts to know that when I miss the 9 darter, I'll still win the 'frame'

I posted the same thing the day previously billy. So my supreme bet is more gut instinct that anything else.

Dunno whether or not to cash out 40/1 Fakir on 365 and reinvest in supreme. After hearing KB yesterday it sounds like that’s very possible
