Queen Mother Champion Chase 2019

No UDS in the Clarence House, yet again another poor effort all round.

Can't really blame them for not running UDS when he couldn't beat him with his optimum conditions?

On another note, there aren't any horses that can challenge Altior at 2 miles, so why would a double figure field be a better spectacle when they'd all be absolutely thumped?

I'm not blaming them about UDS, just the whole field size makes it a pointless exercise, a bit like the Laurina race, what are we going to learn that we didn't already know. It's not a 'proper' race is it. No Grade 1 should go off with a 3 runner field, it's a sorry state of affairs IMO.

They should make all races handicaps :) except for novices

There were 4 runners in the Tingle Creek and it was a superb race.

Quality is the issue, not quantity...

And the handicap suggestion would work, may need to be tweaked, but should be explored IMO.

What do you expect to learn? Altior being far superior to the opposition again? Beating UDS (if he ran) even cosier as UDS likes it softer?

I get people's argument with Laurina as she is still to prove herself, but i think we know where we stand with Altior as boring as it can be.

I said I wasn't blaming them about UDS! Was more a pointer towards the opposition in the UK, although clearly there is NONE!

Shall we abolish the QMCC until Altior retires then, as it's a done deal supposedly.

Shall we abolish the Clarence House for the same reason? :p

I'm happy we'll get to see Altior. I don't care if it is a two runner race, better and more enjoyable this year than last year!

Dont understand why nobody goes and mops up some prize money, haven’t they introduced something where horses can’t be penalised for getting smashed by top class horses? So their marks arent at risk.

My post was more questioning what you expect to learn vs Altior? Didn't say you were! Perhaps King should've run Sceau Royal since the grounds more to his liking, he might've learnt something.....but probably nothing positive lol.

I agree there must be something in the UK or Ireland that wants 2miles on good ground that should run......

Backed Fox Norton 20/1 NRNB will lay off win part if he runs and have the 4/1 place bet running for me

We're hoping Footpad will make the Dublin Racing Festival in two weeks' time. He's entered for the Grade 1 Ladbrokes Dublin Chase and we're very happy with the way he is progressing since he met with a little setback.

When he fell at Naas on his first start of the season he came back with an overreach which held up his training. He came back at Leopardstown's Christmas meeting where he lost out to Simply Ned and suffered the same injury.

Explains the money for Min for DRF

Is Altior related to yorkhill?

Edit:obviously I’m joking

He's already got his mind on Cheltenham by jumping left ;)

After today could we be saying that altior will win this and in terms of a betting perspective we should be looking at betting without the favourite?

Personally I have footpad in numerous bets just at the end of last season but considering cashing out after what we've seen of him this season?

Interested to know others opinions

I would just hang on a while. Just wait and see how Altior has come out of his race etc.. That jumping left thing came out of nowhere. maybe just because he was making the running but worth hanging fire to check all is well.

Has anyone heard anything from tizzard since the race earlier regarding fox Norton destination at Cheltenham?

"If we feel as though he has no chance of beating Altior, we may go for the Ryanair"

Classic Tizzard - what a stupid comment.... he has no chance - everyone knows that... what he means is “we are going Ryanair unless Altior gets injured” idiot
