about the time of year to start having a poor guess at what he rides at the festival.
 
I know you said poor guess, but it's nigh on impossible right now to even know what novices will run right now IMO.

Also the addition of him + Townend sharing some rides so PT can challenge for the jockey championship spices it up further.

He'll ride Min + Footpad (as long as they don't clash), Penhill (reluctantly i suspect over Faugheen), Laurina wherever she goes....

Not much help from me here haha.

I've not got a clue what horses are going yet, but I think he'll be avoiding anything that's a risky jumping proposition, especially in the novice ranks

You think he’ll choose Klassical Dream over Aramon, Scooby? Wasn’t he on the latter in his impressive run, which looks to be the best form to me.

wow Scooby! This really is a guess up. Interesting to hear people's opinion though... good post. Personally feel that PT will ride Penhill. After 2 Festival victories in successive years I think it would suit owner, trainer and even Ruby if Faugheen makes the gig.

I think Laurina and Benie are probably given but the other races are tough to even call what might get there let alone who will ride. I think he will ride Duc De G but I'm not sure in which race! I can also see his Gold Cup mount being a very late decision - just depending on what's giving them the best signals nearer the time. And I agree about Cilaos E if he makes it.

Re Ruby, I will be looking out for where he takes the ride on novices with a bigger reputation but less race experience, vs Willies second and third string that have a lower profile but more race experience.

Id agree, That's my reasoning for putting ruby on faugheen. It would be harsh if townend diddnt keep the partnership in tact with penhill.

Annamix wouldn't suprise me I deffinately think he's up in trip now. But whether he's expected to find alot more and be the 1st choice, I'd be a shade doubtful.

I dare say in the novice races in particular if you could ever get a straight answer from him then what he expected to be riding in them at the start of the season compared to what he will actually ride will be widely different

Just on a slight tangent; where has Rich Ricci gone this season? Is he stopping having horses?
