  • Who's Attending Where?

With the return of crowds today in the U.K, it's a nice thought that we will be back on track soon!

What racedays / trips have you all planned?

Providing that Irish tracks are open, my scheduled race days would probably be:

Down Royal 29th/30th October, Sat and Sun of the November Meeting at Cheltenham, Royal Bond day at Fairyhouse 28th November and the Tingle Creek at Sandown a week later! If all open and ok, it will be an exciting 5 weeks .. making up for lost days!

Can't wait, where are you all for?

6 of us are having a right day of it at Bath this Friday. Starting at 10am in town with an alcoholic full English and ending with a late night curry. Looks like being decent sized fields and there's a few that I've already picked out that we're going to have a right go on following several hours study since entries came out. One in particular stands out a mile so I'm hoping he stands his ground so we can have it off. Can't wait. It's been a very long time coming !!

God knows when N.I will be having crowds back being under the HRI umbrella, but i'd be similar to you. Down Royal October is my first main one. Would love to get to either DPK or Down Royal before then but wouldn't hold my breath. Might get to one in Newcastle as i'm over there quite often, but the racing isn't too inspiring lol.

I'm booked in the restaurant for the evening meeting at Warwick next week, which will be my first visit to a racecourse since the 2020 Festival.

I'm also staying in Market Rasen for the weekend of the Summer Plate meeting in July. It's a racemeeting I'd very mucjh recommend if you haven't been before. It's a bit of an oasis in the middle of the summer of flat racing.

After that it'll be Cheltenham's October meeting, although there is the chance of an ad hoc day here and there I suppose.

I'll also get a hospitality invite or two this summer no doubt. It'll be flat racing though, and I'll be there for the social only. I take flat racing as seriously as watching donkey rides off the pier, where my tip is always to bet on the biggest looking child.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Sounds great Spectre. Like you, flat racing is not generally a love of mine but when we do go flat racing I spend a huge amount of time studying before we go and we have a decent punt between us on one or two and then spend the rest of the day drinking. There's one who's form jumps out for Bath on Friday and we are waiting for Decs before smashing into it. Hopefully we'll win enough to pay for the day and the next adventure.

Yes many times OTL. It's a course I really like. One of the best viewing courses in the country.

The Tingle Creek meeting is usually an excellent day's racing. You'll have a great time. It is a course where it's worth spending a bit extra for facilities and viewing though.

Downpatrick? Behave Jack! Brutal haha. Nah only been to a few low key nights at it and racing was bog standard (being generous!), more of a piss up, the other time went as won free tickets in a ten to follow comp, but suppose we would take anything now!

Down Royal in October is a great meeting (for our wee country) and one I look forward too each year, surely will be back to normal for it (fingers crossed)

Hoping to be at Warwick myself next Wednesday, subject to my work colleagues getting their arses into gear. Looking forward to it very much

Tried getting tickets for Warwick tomorrow but assume they’re sold out as the website doesn’t allow you to purchase so I’m heading to Yarmouth instead.
Brighton (Monday) and Sandown (Thur) next week and
Salisbury (8 June) in the diary.
I’m sure we’re all bigger NH fans but the racing and quality can be irrelevant, just a huge relief to be able to get outdoors in the fresh air and enjoy some racing...

Think govt rules are tickets have to be purchased online 48 hours before racing. No way it'll be capacity sell out. Pathetic really. With you though re day out over preference for NH racing. Just glad to have a day with the lads and up close and personal with the horses

Can’t be Lobos, I got Yarmouth tickets yesterday.
There certainly aren’t any tickets on the door which takes away the last minute option but I understand that and it should only be temporary.
Last few remaining hoops to jump through before normality...
