Disappointing but the right decision, that Sandown ground can get deep especially at the bottom of the hill by the pond, not sure when he’s going to get better ground but for me it’s still the right call...

      • can see hendo being particularly cautious with him after last year ..what a massive shame for race fans though

        • The little gobshite! He couldn’t have blew enough smoke up the horses arse all week then pulls it out last minute! Fuckin stinks!

          • Hendo and Nico blatantly lying today. No mention of risk of pulling him out.

I thought the ground on the chase course today was soft g/s in places?

              • "It's well documented that testing ground isn't what we want, but we haven't got another option so we've got to go and this has always been his target.

"That said, it's not like running two-mile-five at Ascot like we did against Cyrname last year. He's beaten Politologue in soft ground at Newbury in the Game Spirit two years ago and he's in good shape, while he's got to have a run."

so he says that then pulls him out

                • Oh that's so frustrating, was looking forward to seeing one of the best ever. Just typical Henderson to do it at last moment.

                  • I’m still shocked 365 have allowed me to cash out the Tingle/QMCC double. Thought that bet was a gonna

Same, couldn't tap the screen fast enough. They've been brutal with other cash outs recently too.
It's very difficult to like Nicky Henderson at times...

                        • They were quick with removing the cashout on the tingle creek though. no cashout at 9.02pm when i tried to.
noises were positive all day i should have known.

                          • I would have no real problem with the decision if he hadn't of talked up the horse all week. Did he not care to look at the forecast and add in any advance warning? It's soft (good to soft in places) with no rain until the race. Why not walk the course tomorrow morning?

On the plus side he now has plenty of time to prepare Altior for the King's Stand.

                            • Anyone beginning to come round to PTKO being the solid horse in the market?
