I backed Gin On Lime at 20/1 for the Mares Chase with cashout, and I've just checked and she's the still the same price. I can't see her going anywhere else.

I have backed Gin on Lime for the Arkle and TWAR. I got 14s TWAR which I thought was a worthy 2pt sacrifice over taking 16s for the Mares Chase.

Easy decision with her. If she goes for the Arkle trial at Cheltenham in November then jump on the 40's . Kettle was also campaigned mainly over 2 1/2 during the Summer but ended up the 2 Mile Queen. Being able to stay 2 1/2 and jump for fun at a good pace worked out perfectly around Cheltenham's undulating stiff track for Kettle and I get the feeling GOL will be suited to Prestbury just the same. The Mares Chase could of course be a nice alternative should she fall short .

It could be easier getting 7lbs from the boys as opposed to mixing it at level weight with Elimay in the Mares Chase. Before that it'll be interesting if she goes to Wexford/Tipperary like Kettle or if Henry sends anything else to those races. Whatever happens we need to find his Arkle horse as much as Mullins and Henderson's representatives. He's got an incredible record with his 2 mile chasers.

You could back him at 12/1 with cashout for the X-C, and if he won that use your 13pts to back him for Aintree.

He would have to be 5/1 or less to win the Grand National, to not beat 80/1.

Leicester New Boys v Villarreal on Wednesday

Taking my 8yo twin grandsons to their first ever football match.

Excitement is mounting, judging by the zoom call we had earlier this evening.

My grandsons loved going to their first match last night.
Leicester were so impressive for 50+ minutes, scored 3 qoals either side of half-time, they cheered their hearts out.

Then some psycho player, took umbrage to being tackled by Fofana, Came back on the field after physio treatment, immediately sought him out and broke his leg.

The atmosphere changed for that last 30 minutes after the poor lad was stretchered off.

The crowd booed every Villareal player every time they touched the ball for the last 30 minutes.

Talk about light and shade.

They mostly remember the brilliant bits this morning, and they're neighbour came round this morning - he has a hospitality box at Leicester City and has invited them to the Wolves match on the opening day of the Prem.

Out of the darkness reappears the light.

We just need to sign a centre half (or two) sharpish.

Look how many point Liverpool dropped off by last season trying to make do in that key position.
