No secret that I am a big fan of Gin on Lime and I've said as much on Lobos diary thread. I think her jumping has been excellent over the Summer and has even improved over the 3 runs. I think she has the potential to be better than Put the kettle on, I just hope her course form at Cheltenham can rival her too.

If she turns out better than Kettle then that 40's might look ok !

She's an exceptional jumper, Cheltenham will suit, tendancy to jump a little left handed today and the jockey would probably have pushed a little harder earlier if he could run it again as she stayed on really well when headed. I wouldn't rule her out yet. 40's is still very fair based on that.

I was impressed.

Agreed, I was trying to find odds for the Mares Chase for GoL before her race at Galway but she wasn’t involved in the Bet 365 market and the other book makers a rushed through. She wasn’t disgraced at Galway, it was a close race and it’s more racing experience for her which can only be a good thing as long as she doesn’t experience too many tough races in a short space of time so a few races in the summer will help her a long.
Lots of experience to basically do her Novice season in the summer, then plot a couple of runs in the main season to end up in the Mares Chase.
Thats the distance she has been running over most of the time, and she was coming back at the finish over 2M2F, like she wanted the 2M4F trip.
She had two Chase runs pre-Christmas last season then missed the Festivals, I presume she got an injury that put her out. That may be why they’re making up for lost time now, with 6 chases in total now.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 1 August 2021, 11:51 PM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Looking at the current market for the Mares Chase many of the top 10 already look pretty exposed too. I expect Elimay to be favourite but there’s not much strength in depth behind her unless any experienced Mares from France are bought and brought over before next March. I’ll be backing Elimay & Gin on Lime over the next few months in the hope the Mares Chase is their expected target.
