I've got her in a double today with Joan Of Arc at Goodwood and have taken the RAB as well. If she loses today, the Cheltenham prices will still be there but have had something on just in case
I do like her. The similarities to Put The Kettle On are remarkable. Improved hugely for Summer racing and jumping a fence and she loves to bowl along in front. Her jumping is very good and puts those in behind her in trouble. Henry has a fantastic record with his 2 mile chasers and a brilliant record in the Arkle so all to play for.

    • No secret that I am a big fan of Gin on Lime and I've said as much on Lobos diary thread. I think her jumping has been excellent over the Summer and has even improved over the 3 runs. I think she has the potential to be better than Put the kettle on, I just hope her course form at Cheltenham can rival her too.

Yep, cheers for highlighting Lbur. I now have her on board at 40's. Big similarities to PTKO.

If she turns out better than Kettle then that 40's might look ok !

        • Wouldn't be for me based on that this evening at the level people are suggesting, nice round of jumping but beaten by a handicapper and no real excuses to be made.

Wouldn't count her out. She's an exceptional jumper, Cheltenham will suit, tendancy to jump a little left handed today and the jockey would probably have pushed a little harder earlier if he could run it again as she stayed on really well when headed. I wouldn't rule her out yet. 40's is still very fair based on that.

I’d be cashing out after that myself. Way below what will be required. The mares chase will be more her level on the back of that.

Bit premature to be cashing now and absolutely no need to. Kettle was beaten similarly into 2nd on her way to Arkle victory so all to play for.

Would have to be a really weak Arkle for her to feature imo. Think she’ll go down the mares route after today.
50s at hills lobos if you fancy a top up!

My thoughts too. Did nothing wrong, went close in first run at this level and HDB has a knack of bringing out plenty of improvement. I was actually quite pleased with how it went and think that she will kick on as the season progresses.

                      She ran really well Lobos.
                      I was impressed.

Yeah saw he was 50's. Happy to stick with what I've got ATM. Kettle won a weak looking Arkle so you never know. We've still not heard anything re Appreciate It and why he missed Punchestown. If he were to miss the Arkle it would open the race right up.

Agreed, I was trying to find odds for the Mares Chase for GoL before her race at Galway but she wasn’t involved in the Bet 365 market and the other book makers a rushed through. She wasn’t disgraced at Galway, it was a close race and it’s more racing experience for her which can only be a good thing as long as she doesn’t experience too many tough races in a short space of time so a few races in the summer will help her a long.

She looks primed for the Mares Chase to me.

Lots of experience to basically do her Novice season in the summer, then plot a couple of runs in the main season to end up in the Mares Chase.

Thats the distance she has been running over most of the time, and she was coming back at the finish over 2M2F, like she wanted the 2M4F trip.

She had two Chase runs pre-Christmas last season then missed the Festivals, I presume she got an injury that put her out. That may be why they’re making up for lost time now, with 6 chases in total now.

Galway is a tricky track to race on too so it wasn’t like it was a flat track schooling, the undulating lay out can catch many jumps horses out. Looking at the current market for the Mares Chase many of the top 10 already look pretty exposed too. I expect Elimay to be favourite but there’s not much strength in depth behind her unless any experienced Mares from France are bought and brought over before next March. I’ll be backing Elimay & Gin on Lime over the next few months in the hope the Mares Chase is their expected target.

I have backed Gin on Lime for the Arkle and TWAR. I got 14s TWAR which I thought was a worthy 2pt sacrifice over taking 16s for the Mares Chase.
