Istrabraq Hurdle Trends 2015

The Tipperary Hurdle takes place on the first Sunday of October at Tipperary Racecourse. It is a Grade 2 hurdle over 2 miles with contenders hoping to graduate into Cheltenham Champion Hurdle contenders. Istabraq was the last horse to double up. Go Native, Harchibald and Intersky Falcon also feature on the roll of honour.

The fixture features a mixed jumps and flat card with a Group 3 ( Concorde Stakes) and Listed race on the flat plus Grade 3 Novice Hurdles and Chases supporting the Istabraq (old Tipperary)  Hurdle. It is billed locally as Tipperary Super Sunday.

About Tipperary Racecourse

A flat, left-handed course of one mile and two furlongs in length with a chute for five furlong races.

Travelling to Tipperary Racecourse

By Road: 23 miles east of Limerick City and 65 miles north of Cork City.

By Rail: This is one of the most accessible racecourses in Ireland by rail. Limerick Junction Station is within easy walking distance of the racecourse. There are regular train services from both Dublin (Heuston Station) and Cork to the track.
