Geraghty Tips Treble
Thu, Mar 15th, 2012

Fat Jockey tipster Barry Geraghty landed a Champion Chase day treble to move to the head of the Cheltenham Festival Jockey Tipster Challenge.

Barry landed a Grade One 3 timer on Simonsig, Bobs Worth and Finians Rainbow to claim pole position in the Thomas Pink Leading Rider award. He had tipped all three horses at prices of 3/1,7/2 and 5/1 in the Fat Jockey tips challenge.

His pick for today was previous course winner Champion Court in the Jewson. We caught up with Barry last night and he said he would like to change that to his own mount Solix ! Writing in his ATR blog Barry commented:

To some he might not leap out as an obvious chance but I'm sure he's going to run very well. The thing that delighted me about his last run at Cheltenham on New Year's Day was how well he jumped. He gave Champion Court 3lb and wasn't beaten far and I think that horse is a player in this and is  a horse I like but might struggle to confirm on level terms. The other thing about Solix is that he's much better served by the good ground he's going to get. He comes into this fresh and well and I can't emphasise enough how much better his jumping was last time – he was really good.

None of our other tipster jockeys had picks today.
