Hi, I haven't picked any of them. The 'captain' made the final decisions.

Although, yes - he's favourite for a reason IMO

          Okay ..... all done.

Thank you to cpfcpatriot, bobbyvalentino, jonthehammer, quevega and HurricaneFly for being this years captains...You don't have a lot to live up to based on previous years

The idea is for EVERYONE to have a little go at the 5x Yankee's suggested (even if it's for very small stakes)

          Good luck to ALL!

Cracking effort by everyone to put all these Yankees together. Very much appreciated and I will be doing them all. So it just remains for me to say... Enjoy your week and May all your loses be small and all your winners be big buggers.

              Thanks Kev

If I was to back one it’d probably be Day 1, but we’ve all got a squeak

and then a 2 pt win bet from Hugh on.....

ABOLITIONIST remains potentially very well handicapped for his current yard and is my idea of the best bet on the card on day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle Final (Cheltenham 2.10).
He improved for his last stable in Ireland, going up 17lb in the weights prior to finishing a good third off a mark of 145 in the 2017 Irish Grand National.

He was able to resume over hurdles on a mark of just 122 on his debut for Dr Richard Newland and duly made a mockery of his mark, making most of the running and winning easily in a qualifier for this race at Aintree.
He was then off the track for nearly four months before returning in a well-contested Newbury veterans’ chase, where he shaped as if needing the run, travelling strongly for a long way before fading.
That was a prep for his spring campaign, which is scheduled to include the Grand National. He’s set to run off 150 at Aintree if he makes the cut, but is able to race off a mark 16lb lower here.

Although his improvement for his previous yard came over fences, for most of his career there was little evidence that he was a better chaser than hurdler – indeed at one stage he was rated 10lb higher over hurdles than over fences.
He seems to handle most types of ground and is versatile in terms of tactics. It’s a minor concern that cheekpieces are fitted, as he raced freely on the only previous occasion he wore them, but he could have plenty more to come on just his third start for his current yard.

It’s a bit surprising that Dr Newland hasn’t added to his Festival tally since winning the Coral Cup with Burntoakboy with his first runner at the meeting, but Pineau De Re was a bit unlucky not to win this race prior to his Grand National triumph and Abolitionist looks well overpriced off a potentially very favourable mark.
