  • I already have a ticket on Sceau Royal at 25-1 , But decided today to have a decent bet on him , I'm sure he'll be in the frame,
and I think 6-1 is still a decent price . I don't really want Footpad to go J.l.t as i have
him in a lot of multiples , but if he does , then S.R would surely halve in price and
    go Favourite .

If you like SCeau Royal, I think North Hill Harvey has to be considered BC< on their Cheltenham run.... if you back more than one a race of course....

      • Sceau Royal*runs in the*Napoleons Casino & Restaurant Owlerton Sheffield Lightning Novices' Chase.

I schooled him at Alan King’s on Monday morning after he'd done a really good piece of work on Saturday. He jumped very well and is full of himself. He’s one I’m really looking forward to seeing back in action.

He's very good. He was a talented hurdler but has improved again for going over a fence. I'm excited about him – not only for this season but the years ahead.

          • No further word on PM, but as has been said before on here, no matter what happens in the Irish Arkle he will no doubt come on heaps for that run, given his absence since before Christmas.

I have and have had the top 4 in the betting covered for some time now, but without any doubt PM is my best result still.

Yeah he seems to have drifted and since I didn't really cover Footpad early doors (despite him being my boy) I'm increasingly interested in a value play on PM

Nice to have the sound bite, was very much expected.

Do you think if they both we're JLT horses they'd have done the same? Or tried one at the Arkle trip... Arkle being "the Arkle" and all?

Yes North hill Harvey is on my list , backed him too yesterday and have 33-1 (i think) from way back . Haven't got footpad backed
as a single , because i thought the price was too short , but in a stack of multiples .
Don't think I'll have any more plays in this , unless S.R or N.H.H still a decent price festival week.

Hard to know tbh. Owners arent afraid to run their horses against one another. If i was an owner id just run the horses at their best trip. Rather have 2 horses with a chance in one race than 1 with a chance and the other a hopeful punt. Perhaps different if one was an odds on shot and you were confident of the win.
Ive rambled on there and not sure if im making sense but my excuse is that Liverpool performance has just fried my head

                      • Interesting that there are only 28 entries. You'd assume that the Willie's 3 Irish Arkle entries are in there and I know another three. Looking like a small field.

                          • The introduction of the JLT has had a negative impact on the Arkle.
This race now regularly has single digit runners, in fact, can't rememebr the last time 10 or more....

One of them runs at Gowran tomorrow and you should be able to guess the other two.

                              • Staggering that PM is the price he is depsite beating the favourite three times last year over hurdles.

Footpad has looked the most natural novice chaser I’ve seen but he’s not beaten a lot whereas PM has better Hurdle form.
