JUSTICE LASS who bids to get off the mark at the third attempt at Windsor (6.20). She improved a lot from her debut when running at Newmarket last weekend and this race looks to represent a good opportunity for her to get her head in front. Having shown good early pace last time, connections have dropped her back to six furlongs and this maiden is far from the strongest that has been run at the track this season. In terms of dangers, William Haggas saddles Electra Voice who ran so sort of race on her first start but could be open to further improvement whilst Gary Moore’s Modello looks the pick of the debutants. However, I fancy this is the day for David Elsworth’s filly to get off the mark before stepping into better races.

Tim Easterby’s DEW POND who lines up at Beverley (8.10). has been running well but is a thorough stayer and the step up to two miles is likely to play to his strengths. He finished fourth last time at Carlisle and the third Cosmic Statesman reopposes here, with Easterby’s three-year-old receiving 11lb from his rival, 4lb more than he did last time. If the ground stays good to firm at Beverley that would also increase his chances as he has already run well twice on that sort of ground this season. I wouldn’t expect Dew Pond to be too far away in the closing stages of the race and perhaps this could give him a chance to get himself in the Winner’s Enclosure.
