Watching Envoi Allen jump a fence round Cheltenham will be like equine pornography.

The thought of him pinging that fence as they swing down the hill on the new course is different gravy

really hope the main protagonists from the AB translate well over fences and meet for another epic clash in the RSA. Also looked like a couple from the ballymore, "the Bigs" would also potentially step up. Feels like if Envoi is fit trainers more likely to push horses to RSA making for a cracker...

          Voted Arkle.
Fav day is day1 and while i love the supreme and champion hurdle its hard to beat the thrill of the arkle, pitting the best 2mile novice chasers of the year from both sides of the sea against each other and seeing a potential superstar

At this stage it’s the Gold Cup for me; last years RSA winners/places taking on Al Boum Photo and Topofthegame

Gold Cup for me and i think 2021's could be a belter. We have ABP attempting to become legendary, Santini , who ran a very decent race this year, and then Chanp, Minella Indo and Topofthegame attempting to take the crown, what's not to like

Usually only a small field with a short priced favourite? Recent years with Sprinter Sacre, Altior, Footpad...... normally sees the ‘initiation’ of a new superstar, but rarely provides much in the way of a really good raace over the last furlong or so. Certainly in recent years, anyway. Put the Kettle on won easily a few months too.

Yep, we've had very small fields in recent years.

Definitely the Supreme for me, the excitement and spine tingle of ‘THE ROAR’, everyone hoping and dreaming for lots of winnings tickets, and the supreme the first chance to do so. The buzz on the train on way in and excitement around the course, just magic. No better place to be.

Great poll this. Just been having a few well earned beers in the garden and whilst the misses has gone for a siesta I thought I’d reflect on the status of the game we all love so much and It got me thinking has the national hunt game ever been in better shape? Of course they’ll be injuries next year but the novice chase division is so exciting shiskin and EA could easily become genuine legends of the game and how many exciting RSA candidates do we have. We are spoiled for choice. But it‘s not just novices. APB is going for 3 consecutive gold cups and if they can just get CPS to the CC in one piece he could be exceptional. Eptante could easily rattle of 2-3 champion hurdles and paisley could easily bounce back next year. It may just be me slightly tipsy but I do think we are at one of the most exciting times In national hunt racing that I can remember. Roll on on Cheltenham in October and let’s hope that as many get to March in one piece.

I think many are with you, including myself, Arkle.

Dangers aplenty ATM though. Captain Guinness confirmed to go chasing, as per the trainers/owners quotes thread. Klassical Dream would be of big interest too. Pic D'Orhy no mug, though Nicholls may prefer targets away from the festival with him. Some lively outsiders too, Cedarwood Road, if good enough, no news on Elixir D'ainays plans either. I'm sure Giggs will have one or two to have a crack at it also.

Hoping most choose other paths as would love Shishkin to go in for sure.

Nickys comments on the unibet preview struck me most he was almost dismissive of every other horse that grey one etc lol must think an awful lot of him. Il be relying on him as my banker for each Yankee etc till he gets too short probably after first run.

Big fan of a tipsy post.

It's hard to gauge I suppose, it definitely seems a good time at this stage. I felt there was a bit of a lull after Ricci had Faugheen/Annie Power/Douvan and Vautour all at the peak of their powers at the same time... 2015/16 - Sprinter Sacre had risen like a phoenix. The battle of the Don's... and the almighty Thistlecrack emerging in the Stayers Hurdle. Magic times.

I don't think we're up to that level yet, but of course it's hindsight that makes that picture clearer...

At the moment with horses like Al Boum Photo, Epatante, Tiger Roll, Honeysuckle, Benie, Paisley, Shishkin, Goshen and Envoi Allen we may well look back in 5 years time and think we had some of the greats in 2020 too!

Gold Cup just edging the RSA for me. Lets just hope all the main players get there fit and well. Nothing worse than seeing a potentailly great race cutting up in the last month or two (or day or two if you look at this years QMCC)
