National Hunt Challenge Cup Amateur Riders' Novices' Chase

Sam spinner for this perhaps?

Needs to stop jumping right wherever he goes

Jockey seems nailed on to me.... I can't see them not taking on the RSA when he's placed over 3 miles in the Stayers Hurdle.

That'll be better hurdles form than literally any of the other horses he comes up against too. (bar Faugheen I guess)

Just looked through the entries for the coming week and saw Red River entered for the 2m6 novice chase at Newbury on Friday. He's a horse I like a lot, last run as a novice hurdler he beat Mr Whipped then first time over fences last year he looked likely to win when he stumbled after jumping 2 out and was pulled up. He didn't run again so is still a novice chaser and only 6. I asked 365 to price him up for this and the RSA and they quoted me 100-1 for each which I think is better value for this than the RSA as that looks a deeper race atm.

I have added Dickie Diver for this @ 25/1. I used quite a few free bets backing him at that price for the RSA, but I think connections will avoid running theirs against one another, particularly with Champ as fav.

Gone with you on DD. Makes utter sense and he looks a proper plodder.

Dickie Diver is a big lad but Im not sure theres much evidence yet to put him in the plodder category. Hopefully get to see him soon

I was at Chepstow when DD came to win the race , smashed the hurdle lost momentum and still picked up and almost won
Watch the race
he is certainly no plodder

Have backed 20/1 Any Race early doors ( now 16/1 ) as was unsure of target
Love this horse , may not be top table but gutsy .

Took 33 with Hills. Don't fancy him to win an RSA.

Willie on Carefully Selected

We have a beginners’ chase at the end of November at Fairyhouse, and I have that pencilled in for him.

Redzor anyone?

The owners loves one in this, hes a good jumper with ptp experience, his debut was impressive and he kept finding today

was anything mentioned regarding Rockpoint?

Faugheen anyone.?

Not an ante post prospect given his profile, and without a certain target you couldn't advise him as a bet?

IMO unlikely to be going 4 miles, after what happened for connections with Pont Alexandre. Might be nothing in that at all but he's better than this race.

There will be absolute outrage if Faugheen was to rock up in this tbh

Faugheen seems to be running over mid-distance trips, so if things went well and WPM wanted to race him at Cheltenham in a Grade 1 then potentially it's the JLT at the moment.

After watching his debut, I’m sure Faugheen wouldn’t look out of place in the JLT, just have this feeling though, that at 11 going on 12 for the fest, should he turn up, he would be out done by younger progressive horses? However the 4m would be a nice race for him IMO, steady pace to get into rhythm, class to put it to bed near end, again, only my opinion

Well you might be right, just my opinion is that on this occasion you should not back your own opinion :p
