There’s less point looking at top and bottom weights pre-2013 given the maximum of 135 was abandoned after 2012.

Wow the first thing that stands out since the weight range was lifted up is NICHOLLS-FRENCH BREDS.

15 French breds in the first 3 over 8 years, is a big indicator that since the weight range was lifted that trainers are able to source into France to meet the requirements of this race, and buy better horses to run in it.

    Superb info SW

I so dont want Mick Pastor to come here , borderline case on what they give him , im hoping in low 140s so Nicholls sends him Triumph.

I backed Wolf Prince 25/1 after his last but one run , full of promise and nice to see him win other day with fair amount in hand to my eye.

Quotes regarding Wolf Prince after win at weekend:
The four-year-old was beaten comfortably by Henry de Bromhead’s Aspire Tower at Leopardstown over Christmas and Cromwell is keen to avoid that one if he can.

“It was a messy kind of a race, but I suppose on form he should have been winning it,” said Cromwell.

“He showed gears as well and it was a good enough performance.

“He has an entry in the Grade One at Leopardstown, but I’d presume Henry’s horse would go there and it would be very hard to beat him.

“There is also a 130-rated novice at Naas in February and he could potentially go there.

“He’ll probably get an entry in the Triumph, but is more likely to go to the Fred Winter. I don’t see much point in going and taking on Henry’s horse in the Triumph.”

Wolf Prince’s initial Irish handicap rating is 133. Even with UK handicapper should be no more than late 130’s (Band of Outlaws UK mark up was 4 or 5lb last year) which gets him in towards the top of the handicap in the Boodles, unless he runs again and his mark changes.

I thought of this race for Elysian flame after his debut at Cheltenham where he stayed on into 3rd despite his poor jumping.
Next start at Chepstow over Xmas was disappointing though so will need to run well next time to get his mark up.

The 2 Joseph O'Brien horses with Mcmanus are both interesting for this.
Irish marks 131 and 132 at moment, one or both likely to run at dublin or trials day.
Might just depend which gets treated best by the UK handicapper.

Mick Pastor had a previous hurdles run in France didn't he, as well as 2 runs in the UK? So he's already got the 3 runs in the bag I reckon.

Both very high up my list. A Wave of the Sea deffo looks a plot for this to my eyes.

I made an argument for Cerberus in the triumph thread last week (#477). Basically suggesting British handicapper has no option but to assess Cerberus @ 135 from his running behind Allmankind in the Finale. That is of course if he doesn't fluff his line in the DRF. I would welcome if somebody would request a bet as no quotes that I can find. Preferably with B365.
Basically the same situation with A Wave of the Sea as they are the same horse ability wise but I prefer Cerberus
