Marsh Novices Chase 2020 (was JLT)

Reserve Tank pushed out to 14's by Paddies for this ??

He looks far too short at the moment too, as his chase form is not great.
Although he improved loads in Spring last season.

Somebody said before about Laurina avoiding Samcro... but they'd be fine to have a crack with Melon like that did when they both fell at Punchestown a couple of seasons back.

Laurina (Arkle) / Samcro (JLT) 71/1

Exactly how I see it Kev. Have Laurina (Arkle) & Samcro (JLT) in a few crossed multiples already but may well add just the double at larger stakes.

They would avoid Samcro wouldn't they as well.
I'm typing myself into thinking that's a decent double, even this far out

Glad I found this so I can add to to my ante post diary without getting lynched. :highly_amused:

There must be a spring broken on their computer system , Every other day it goes red @ 14-1.
And blue @ 8-1, in between !!

The interviews afterwards had the jockey saying 2M4F is Laurina’s trip, while the trainer, as usual, is more open to suggestion. She looked very good, and next seasons Mares Chase will have her name stamped on it,

I believe that next time out WPMs plan is a 2M3F Chase, and I am leaning towards the JLT for her based on what I saw today and those next race plans.

Took 12/1 Laurina for the JLT, as she moved away from the much slower Minella Indo, with a cover bet of 8/1 on her for the Arkle.

She is still 4/1 and 9/2 Any a Race at the Festival,

Think Joe Tizzard said he wouldn't have enjoyed the ground at Wincanton ,
and will be much better in the spring .

I'd be interested to learn who had not suspended the markets on Laurina.
Who'd you get that on with ?

The JLT price definitely held for longer than the Arkle price, I know that much. Probably only seconds in it but was on both markets with different bookmakers.

Best not forget she was pencilled in for the 2m 2f mares beginners chase earlier in the week so a quicker trip clearly wouldn't be an issue. Also worth remembering Duc Des Genievres was out in trip before winning a very crap Arkle.

What she does at this stage of the season will be irrelevant, it will just be proof of her well being and that she can jump a fence.

He did very well as a novice hurdler last season and had his biggest win at the Cheltenham Festival when he beat Champ in the Ballymore, which his owners sponsor. He's going over fences and will probably start off around Christmas. He handles soft ground but wouldn't want it too testing. We're looking forward to getting him started.

Windsor Avenue has made a great start to his chasing career and came out of his last race at Carlisle fine. He’s a lovely horse, and useful for sure, but a decision as to where he'll go next has yet to be made.

Very impressive there from Master Tommytucker again jumped very well. Showed plenty of pace and then stayed on well after the last to win. I've covered him for the RSA but that looked more like a JLT performance for me. The one hope being Topofthegame started out over a similar distance last season.

Very good I thought too, added him 'any race' just in case

RSA type run that.
but potentially classy
who dares wins is a strong enough stayer.
cashed thomas darby.
still think it'll turn up here in March and might place, but he's no winner
and anyone still hoping for the arkle must be very hopeful now.

Depends how good you think who dares wins is, hed have won if he jumped the last, I'd have thought the form would fall short at the highest level. But a good introduction all the same.

Thomas Darby didn’t look right at all, I’d imagine something will come to light. Unless he just isn’t as good as his supreme run suggests and hasn’t trained on this season. His debut he was beaten by a race fit mare which was fair enough but today was a big step back imo. Would not fancy him to get place in the Arkle or JLT.

I know what Nichols said he’ll stay further but I don’t see him a serious contender for RSA

Master Tommytucker will also be 9 by the time the festival comes around, usually not a good age for finding the winner of any of the G1 novice chases
