    Haldon Gold Cup 2 10 Exeter -

    DOLOS 5/1 ew

Impossible to imagine he wouldnt be in the first 2 here and he is likely to win this race. Super price and super bet.

JANIKA has been beaten off 145, 150, 156 and 162 in his 4 previous uk runs. Carries top weight and races off 162 here. Not impossible he can improve and win but Henderson stable hardly flying yet despite a few recent winners. They sent him over the national fences for his last race last season and they may be planninh to win the national with him. If thats the case then he needs to get beat here and drop that handicap mark. That may not be the plan amd they may want to win today but it could be. Makes no appeal as 3/1 favourite.

GODS OWN is in his 11/12 yo season and although he has won this twice before and his stables in form he is surely vulerable here off 158 as an 11yo. Some horses can hold there form to this age but most will start regressinh. Makes no appeal at 8/1.

DESTRIER has had just 3 starts in novice company. He lacks experience and this is his first race outside of novice company. Its a massive ask for him to win this 1st time up and in his 1st racr against battle hardened horses from a mark of 151. Outrageous price at 7/2 2nd fav.

CHARBEL has appeared to lose the plot and doesnt look good on his last 5 races. He is potentially well handicapped though so it wouldnt be the biggest surprise if he did return to form though this trip is on the short side for him even at his best and the testing track is probably not ideal.

LALOR is having his first run outside novice company and his first run in a handicap chase. He did win 1st time up last season and may turn out to be the main danger though this is a tough race to make your handicap debut in off 151 against more experienced horses. His trainer has t had a winner for about 290 days to further dampen any enthusiam.

DOLOS can go well fresh, he has plenty of experience fpr a 6yo and is already battle hardened. He has won 3 chases at Kempton, Sandown and Ascot. These tracks are right handed and he is prpbably slightly better going this way round. He is probably still well handicapped and is only 3lb above his win last time. He should improve again this season as a 6/7yo and his mark looks very fair.

Trip, track and ground all suit and Nicholls has won this race 6 times and knows what he is doing here.

Should win really but at 5/1 can have the safety net of small profit even if he was only 2nd. Should be around Evens favourite so 5/1 looks a gift horse and these should never be looked in the mouth im told

Only 2nd but a small profit. Hendersons looked a nice horse and will surely step up to graded company after that performance on only his 5th chase start.

I was unfortunate to follow Janika twice at Cheltenham last year, when beaten by Siruh Du Lac.

He is only six, sand a strong-looking colt, and ai have backed him at 40/1 to win the Ryanair.

Therefore was compelled to back him at 9/2 last night, and today, at last a return to celebrate.

Reinvested again at 25/1 for the Ryanair post-race, as he is sure to be in graded races now. Price dropped to 16/1 best shortly after.
