The Champ has DEFIED the Tizzards.

They were so cocky that Lostintranslatiom was the gold cup winner that they planned to drop The Champs handicap mark and concentrate him on The National from a mark in the 150s.

Cobden was clearly instructed to take the widest path of all in the Ladbrokes Trophy and hold him up even though this is a horse you want to be up close to the pace.
It backfired and The Champ defied them and still got 3rd despite the position he was put in. This got The Champ raised to 164 and completely destroyed the Tizzards plan.
The Champ was never going to run a great race in the Welsh National off top weight less than a month after the mammoth effort required in the Ladbrokes.

Handicapper hasnt budged and The Champ remains 164.

There is now no time to try and drop him and with Lostintranslation flopping for no apparent reason then they now have no option but to send The Champ to win the gold cup.

The Champ will be winning the gold cup DESPITE the Tizzards not because of them.
