  • 2019 Mildmay Novices Chase

    Nicholls

    "Topofthegame could run at Aintree in the Mildmay Novices' Chase because he's only had the three runs this season. I'll see how he is, talk to the owners and make a plan, but he cantered this morning and is fine.

    Sets up a rematch with Le Bague au roi.

    Imagine Santini could also show - with maybe OK Corral dropped back ?

    ...I imagine this race is what Henry de Bromhead refers to as a target for Chris’s Dream;

    The Knockeen trainer regularly picks up honours at Prestbury Park and is out for more with a cast starring past Festival heroes Envoi Allen, Minella Indo and Quilixios.

    Perhaps Lostintranslation as well;

      If they all show that could be the race of the meeting.

            Will be interesting to see how they price it up!

            La Bague Au Roi almost becomes an auto-bet if she's not fav ... but as soon as I saw she was fav I'd want to take her on!

            Will Aintree suit Santini? Won there as a novice but after Kempton the undulating track at Cheltenham was all anyone spoke about suiting him?

            Not got loads to find regardless.

              Yep, Ornua for the 2m has been on my mind for months. Flat track and decent ground right up his street.
