Great write up and good panel. Charlie Swan should have the inside track on JPs. Not sure DDS going for Arkle/JLT double ( maybe he should).

        • There’s a full write up on a twitter thread from @RChurchill26 if anyone wants a full look but the main points from last nights Racing Post preview night:
          Tuesday Naps
          Tom Segal: Al Dancer (Supreme)
          David Jennings: Mister Fisher (Supreme)
          Paul Kelly: Glen Forsa (Arkle)

          Wednesday Naps
Tom Segal: Band Of Outlaws (Fred Winter)
          Paul Kealy: Getaway Trump (Ballymore)
All think Santini is too slow to win an RSA and should be going for the 4 miler, Top Of The Game will be the best horse in the race next year

          Thursday Naps
Tom Segal: Now McGinty (Kim Muir)

Thanks for that - just had a read through - I'm aligned with Kealy on a few things - given his performance last year and over the last few weeks I'm not unhappy about that!

It’s the annual @RacingPost Cheltenham Preview night: ‘Cheltenham on the Rock’. @brucemillington @PaulKealyRP @DavidJenningsRP and #Pricewise Tom Segal on the panel.

DJ: It is no longer about trying to work out how many winners Willie Mullins will have, but more trying to pick anything he has that has a chance to win.

              Supreme
PK: Al Dancer ante post looking good, Grand Sancy a silly price.
DJ: Mister Fisher a player, given win at Kemptom on Boxing Day, deserves to be shorter.
TS: Tipped Al Dancer @ 12s, and still likes it. Angels Breath looking worthy of a bet; ‘does everything right’ #COTR

              Arkle
DJ: Terrible race this year. Glen Forza will win it. Hardline overpriced.
TS: Hardline no chance. Allot interesting, like the Cheltenham form. Glen Forsa the best bet.
PK: Glen Forsa would be fab for this if shorter when winning previously. Could well be EVS here. #COTR

              Champion
TS: Buveur D’Air lacking respect, but easy to agree with that. Apples Jade a good thing.
PK: Apples Jade can’t be had at Chelt. Laurina beaten fuck all, can’t win. With the fav.
DJ: Can dismiss end of last season for Apples Jade, and likes being taken on up front. #COTR

              Mares Hurdle

DJ: Bernie des Dieux will go off well odds on. Get on now, will win.
TS: BDD opposable. Lady Buttons ew a bet if it goes. PK: Desperate for BDD not to win, Lady Buttons won’t go #COTR

              Rest of Tuesday
DJ: Calipso in the Ultima are Riders in the Storm in the Close Bros
TS: Movewiththetimes in the Close Bros
PK: Champagne Classic in the 4 miler #COTR

              Day 1 Summary:
NAPS TS; Al Dancer DJ: Mister Fisher PK: Glen Forsa
LAYS PK: OK Corral Buveur D’Air for others #COTR

              Ballymore

PK: Getaway Trump and Ángels Breath here. Good price about the latter. Sams Profile has good form be fav, take ew.
TS: City Island here looks good, agree r.e. Ángels Breath
DJ: Stable think Champ is next Samcro (is that good?). Classical Dream will make this good. #COTR

              RSA
PK: Santini slow, Topofthegame the beat horae in the race.
DJ: Topofthegame fav for the GC next year, by far best horse in race. Only other possible winner is Delta Work.
TS: Santini has a better chance to win 4 miler. Agree about Topofthegame, wary of Delta Work. #COTR

              Champion Chase
TS: Altior best 2m chaser of all time. Rest have no chance.
PK: Min will finish second. As obvious as Altior winning. Nailed on, Altior still underrated. 5/2 to win the Gold Cup if it went.
DJ: Altior wins easily, still not as good as Sprinter Sacre. #COTR

              Champion Bumper
DJ: Goes through a load of runners/non-runners. Beware of punting antepost. Malone Road advised at the price, will go.
TS: Master Debonaire a good thing for Tizzard, best bumper thing since Cue Card. Against Envoi Allen. PK: Impossible to know. #COTR

              Best of the Rest Weds
DJ: Uradel and Wicklow Brave (yes please!) in the Coral Cup
              PK: ....
TS: Band of Outlaws in the Fred Winter reminds me of Our Conor, but is better. #COTR

              Day 2 Summary:
NAP PK: Getaway Trump TS: Band of Outlaws DJ: can’t remember, too much cava.
LAYS Santini x2 TS: Envoi Allen #COTR

              JLT
DJ: Defi de Seiul a better hose than price suggests.
PK: Top Teo similar. Kildisart a decent horse, massive chance, twice the price he should be. Spiritofthegames @ 33s is he goes interesting. #COTR

              Ryanair
PK: Dismissed front 5 or 6 as many wont go, Frodon and Bryony a good price, also The Storyteller.
DJ: Frodon cannot win, the one horse that is overpriced is Balko des Flos. Has one good day in him. TS: Against Footpad, Monalee soft. Top Notch a nice horse. #COTR

              Stayers
TS: Faugheen doesn’t love Cheltenham, hoping Paisley Park wins, backing a Black Op ew.
PK: Against Black Op, Kilbricken Storm at a big price is worth a bet.
DJ: Black Op closer to fav than prices suggest, but Samcro just wins (shock horror). #COTR
A year is a long time in racing - the crowd agree #COTR

              Day 3:
              Best of the Rest
DJ: First assignment in the Pertemps TS: Now Mcginty in the Kim Kuir PK: Notwhatiam NAPS TS: Nowmcginty Moved too quickly on

LAYS TS: Samcro DJ: Paisley Park PK: Defi De Seuil #COTR

              Triumph
PK: Sir Ereck good for sure, Gardens of Babylon won’t be fair away.
DJ: Gardens of Babylon miles away, fav a good thing. Court Sublime a good bet if he goes at a big price. TS: fav wins #COTR

              Potato Race
TS: no clue, too many to know
DJ: tricky race for sure, Derrinross probably not good enough, but could place. Rocky Diver a nice looking thing.
PK: Dinons a big price given the form, also likes Aye Aye Charlie, stays forever. Leaning towards Dinons. #COTR

              Gold Cup
PK: Backed Kemboy, can’t have Presenting Percy given everything, horrified at AP price.
DJ: No horse since 1929 has won GC with first seasonal run over fences, so against PP. Likes Belshill. TS: All over Clan Des Obeaux. Wins 3 straight #COTR
The #ScouserOnTheSofa is here. No idea who wins the GC. A clown

Beat of the Reat Day 4
PK: Brío Conti for the Martin Pipe
DJ: Cartwright for the Martin Pipe. Le Prezien for the Grand Annual, a great bet. #COTR

Defi De Seuil for the JLT Glen Forsa for the Arkle Clan Des Obeaux for the Gold Cup #COTR
