Wednesday, April 8, 2015 – The going descriptions on the Mildmay & Hurdle Courses at Aintree have been changed this afternoon by Andrew Tulloch, Clerk of the Course & Head of Racing, following the watering programme which started yesterday and was completed this morning.

    They are as follows:-

Mildmay Course – Good to Soft, Good in places (from Good, Good to Soft in places)

Hurdle Course – Good to Soft (from Good to Soft, Good in places)

The going on the Grand National Course remains the same:-

Grand National Course – Good to Soft

Tulloch commented at 2.30pm: “We finished the watering programme (five millimetres) on the Mildmay Course this morning. The course has not dried as much as I thought it would and I am describing it now as Good to Soft, Good in places.

“It is nice ground and the same applies to the Hurdle Course which is Good to Soft following the five millimetres of watering (five millimetres) yesterday.

“The Grand National Course remains Good to Soft and we are likely to do some selective watering before racing tomorrow. I am going to walk the course now.

“The watering will covering about a third of the Grand National Course and involve three to four millimetres of water being put on by the computer-controlled pop-up system. It is lovely jumping ground, with some parts drying quicker than others.

“We will look at the going descriptions again tomorrow morning. It is forecast to be dry for the rest of today, tomorrow and Friday during the day. There could be the odd shower after racing on Friday but only producing one to two millimetres of precipitation.

“Saturday looks a bit overcast and breezy but mainly dry.”

The weather forecast is as follows:
Wednesday & Thursday – dry, cloudy start and then brighter and sunny, 15C.
Friday – dry with some sunny spells, cloudy pm with possible showers overnight 2mm.
Saturday – mainly dry and cloudy, windy 12C.

Mildmay & Hurdle Courses on Thursday
All bends and hurdles are on the outer configuration on Thursday, increasing advertised distances by 40 yards per circuit on the Mildmay Course and 90 yards per circuit on the Hurdle Course. All bends will be moved in by about four yards after racing each day.

Ned Buntline - The Grand Annual was actually his first chase start since April '14 and was going well until he gassed up the hill. Should be more fitter and wiser now and runs off the same mark.

Call The Cops - Lightly raced this season due to the need of better ground. Should improve again even off 8lbs higher.

                Cracking and underrated card this.

They might get more interest if the just stuck Aintree in front of the Cheltenham Race names

                JLT,
                Triumph,
                Gold Cup,
                Champion Hurdle,
                Foxhunters
                Grand Annual
                and Pertemps

Ned Buntline and Ma Filleule ew double here. Like Warne in Foxhunters too.

Old Vic can I also say that that Vernons ad at the top of the page is annoying the F*ck out of me. Carly is easy to look at but that thing from IACGMOOH is not.
