Exeter's general manager Tim Darby said: "I'm delighted the Levy Board Peterborough Chase will be run at Exeter next Thursday.

"It will make a great addition to a strong card for the final meeting of the year here. I'm disappointed for Huntingdon that the weather forced the fixture to move, but as part of Jockey Club Racecourses we are delighted the race will go ahead thanks to the hard work of everyone involved."

Trainer David Bridgwater feels moving the race to Exeter may even be an advantage to his possible Peterborough runner The Giant Bolster, although he plans to check on the fresh entries before committing him to a run.

Last season's Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up was a fine third on his seasonal reappearance in the Betfair Chase at Haydock and Bridgwater feels his stable star is in much better shape now than he was a month ago.

He said: "We'll enter him in the Peterborough, take a look at the entries and then decide whether to run at Exeter or wait for the King George on Boxing Day. He was going to run at Huntingdon if it was on and switching to Exeter won't bother him. It's a stiffer track and will probably suit him better.

"He's absolutely flying at home at the moment. I think if you ran the Betfair Chase again today you might get a very different result."
