Nacarat is set to have his second taste of the Grand National fences in the Betfred-sponsored Grand Sefton Handicap Chase at Aintree on Saturday.

Although the grey did not get very far in the Topham Chase on his first crack at the famous obstacles in 2008, connections have vowed to give him another go.

"The plan is to run him. That's what we're aiming for. He jumped the National fences once before and absolutely loved it," said trainer Tom George.

"Tony Dobbin rode him, they did end up parting company, but Tony said to make sure we send him there one day.

"It's not easy putting him in conditions races. He's rated 160 and he's a Grade One winner, so he would have to carry a penalty in those races.

"Last time he went there he loved it so we thought we'd go there again.

"He's OK on softish, fresh ground, but we wouldn't want it heavy and I don't think it's going to be.

"There's a big difference between fresh ground that's soft and chewed-up ground. As long as the ground doesn't deteriorate we'll be OK."
