We have looked at the Cheltenham Gold Cup records of the four leading jockeys currently still riding.
Between them Ruby Walsh, Barry Geraghty, AP McCoy and Richard Johnson have won 5 of the last 10 renewals of the Gold Cup and filled place positions on a further 8 occasions.
Richard Johnson has been out of luck during that period and has only had three rides. He doesnt have an obvious chance in 2015 either.
Ruby Walsh had a stunning streak of Gold Cup form between 2006 and 2011 finishing 2121P3 but has been out of luck in the race since. Ruby is likely to be on the 2014 Punchestown Gold Cup winner Boston Bob this time around.
AP McCoy won the race on Synchronised in 2012 and has rewarded each way punters who followed him on Sir Des Champs and Exotic Dancer. His most likely ride in the 2015 Gold Cup is the pricewise antepost tip Carlingford Lough.
Barry Geraghty has won the race on Kicking King and Bobs Worth in the last decade and is most likely to pair up with Bobs Worth again in 2015.
